Zaino and service writer comments

Went to the dealer today for hood corrosion issue,TSB# 06-25-15. Decided to mention two places on the hood where paint had rubbed off of the edges.(1-2 feet back, on both sides)I've always thought the hood was rubbing somehow, since it's on both sides. Until the corrosion issue, I was just going to live with it, but maybe now I'll have it fixed. He said someone used a buffer and that is what did it. I told him I never use a buffer, I don't even own one. If one was used, it was the dealer, or Ford. He gave me a look and said "How do you keep a BLACK car free of swirl marks without using a buffer?" I ONLY use Zaino and 100% cotton towels with the edges cut off.I do all of it by hand. I told him he should stop by and see my "wall of Zaino products".
I saw a black car the other day covered in swirls. I'm so glad I heard about Zaino here. Thanks guys!

Mine have commented, asking what I use. I find that a pretty good compliment considering they're used to looking at freshly detailed, brand new paint jobs all day.

Oh, and Zaino here too. Although I may try something different in the near future.

dealerships and buffers should never go together. A few of the dealerships I know of buff your car as part of the delivery procedure. Most people do not know how to use a buffer with out leaving marks

When my car was delivered, I told them to take it off the truck, check the fluids, and park it. When I picked it up, the interior was untouched, still had all the plastic on it and everything. I wasn't risking a brand new paint job w/ a newly hired detail tech.

Clay should always be done FIRST after a good wash. Swirls come from the bits of fall out breaking off scratching the paint.............

Think about it.

Swirls are more from dirt being trapped and dragged across the paint...
