You guys like this NXT Junk?

I've used NXT (I think original b/c there is no 2.0) and was very pleased with the results. Its the only "wax" product I've used in 15 + years since I turtle wax'd mom and dad's microbus (that's right!) so I have no real reference.
I began application and worked my way around the car applying the whole coat. By the time I finished the application of the whole car, I then begin "buffing" off with a nice clean microfiber towel. Results are bueno. I was quite happy, those wrinkles in the hood are clouds, but as i said, I have no other reference. That was also after a good clay bar applique as well.

We have a '07 GT/CS redfire paint, we recently started using Wolfgang pre-cleaner, paint sealant, and top coating with Soverign Carnuba, ordered from Autogeek.
We have tried every other wax on the market, Mequires, Zaino, TW Ice, etc.
This is the best combo there is.
Have 3 trophys to prove it.

I'm brand new to attempting to actually preserve a paint job, so my first wax job on my stang with tech wax 2.0. Went on easy, but my complaint was that there was a lot of color variation across the surface. Did I just not buff it enough? I went through about 10 microfiber towels in the process...

You might have put the wax on too thick and are having trouble removing the residue. Wait 24 hours and use a quick detail spray and see if you can get all of the haze out of the paint. You might even want to give it a quick wash to see if that works.

I probably did put it on too thick. Like I said, I'm pretty new to how to do this correctly. But all the car washes around here that are any kind of full-service are all the ones with the massive industrial beat-the -heck-out-of-your-paint brushes and stuff. So decided I would give it a go myself. I'm sure it's just a matter of practice. My stang sure was shiny after though! But in really bright light I noticed a lot of color variation. What does detail spray do?

Detail spray is just a form of lubrication to clean up light dust and such on your paint. With a good quality microfiber towel and detail spray, you can keep your paint clean between washes as long as you don't get your car too dirty.

o and here are some pictures of the car a few days after a full detail (12 hours). topped off with meguiars NXT 2.0....LOVE THAT STUFF. 99% swirl free (some nooks and crannies i just cant get)
that white line going across the hood is actually a trail left by a jet. the reflection in the paint is amazing.

By hand, and you're right, I wasn't always consistent about the amount that was going on. Like I said, new to this. After the next wash and some more buffing it seems to have evened out.
I'm definitely attributing my inconsistencies with the wax to my own inexperience rather than the wax, but I did think the color variations thing was a weird and unintended side effect of putting too much wax in some areas.

Sounds awesome, and something I'll look into. I can use all the help I can get at this point. Both in terms of technique and in terms of schedule (when I need to do things). I've been turned off in the past by people talking about their perfect wash and wax taking two days or more. To which I said to myself "WTF&^*&^)" How do people have that much time??? I didn't realize they don't have to do it to that level more than twice or three time a year in many cases, so I got turned off.
However now I've got my baby, and she's dark, which means unlike my last silver car, I can see EVERYTHING happening, and I can't just let it happen. So I'm trying to reform myself, and I'm realizing it's not as hard as it sounded with the right stuff, and man, the results, even from my weak abilities can be pretty amazing if you put some elbow grease into it.
I'd just like to learn more to A)make things easier, and more importantly B) not screw up the paint in the process!
