You guys like this NXT Junk?

I'm kinda irritated right now. I washed and clayed my car and it's been sitting under it's cover getting ready for spring. I decided to try something different and got the new Meguiar's NXT 2.0 Tech Wax... stupid me. I put it on tonight, gave it plenty of time to set-up, and it's coming off like crap. The haze comes off easy, but a greasy mess is left behind like it's got a bunch of silicone in it. I guess that's what they call the "Hydrophobic" technology. I'm going to finish taking it off and won't be putting on a second coat like I normally do. I'll be leaving it on until early summer then out comes the Dawn to start over and go back to Zaino.

Just my .02, I know there are some Meguiar's marks on here... maybe it's OK for some colors, but it looks like crap on Torch Red.

Yeah, I had the same issue. You have to work it pretty good to get that oily layer off. If you use another cloth it seems to expedite the process. Another thing that works great is if you use the NXT Speed Detailer right afterwards. It actually makes quick work of that oily layer.

I still swear by the Cleaner Wax they put out, but I never tried Zaino.

I have yet to try the NXT 2.0, but I really do like the original NXT. It comes off easy and doesn't leave any swirlies as long as you have a good clean microfiber towel.

Well now you know one reason why I stopped using NXT. To get rid of the grease look you can wash the vehicle down and/or use a detail spray. I know, it still takes some elbow grease to remove the "grease". No pun intended.

I loved the stuff, I put on one light coat (the whole car at once) let it set up for a few minutes, then wiped it down with a clean microfiber cloth. Looked fantastic, until the pollen got hold of it.

I have not used NXT 2.0 Tech Wax Only NXTI love it Had no problems! The one time I used it, I only waited 5 mins, onlNXT 2.0 Tech Waxy a light coat and didn't let it stay on too long.

Edit; That was last year........still looks great!

That bottle of NXT will now be officially dedicated to waxing my lawnmower... which really isn't a bad thing. My lawnmower kicks ***.

Maybe you put it on too heavy? Maybe it didn't set long enough?

I have used it on someone else's car and on my wheels before I put them on and it came off really easily with no residue. There are professional detailers that think 2.0 is a great product, so it has to have some good qualities. I have never had a problem removing any of the Meguiar's waxes I have used. (Gold Class, NXT 1 & 2, #26) Not sure why you would run into those things.

Maybe too much. I'll experiment w/ it over the summer on my lawnmower. If I find it starts to look good, then maybe I'll upgrade it to the bike before trying it on the Mustang again.

Yeah, I would just say to give it another shot. Maybe it had something to do with the humidity...who knows. Some products just don't work for some people and work great for others.

Wasn't a fan of the Original NXT and won't be trying the gen 2 either. It's Zaino for me.....

Hmm... I've been using NXT for quite a while now. I do like the liquid better than the paste. It seem to go on and come off easier. I haven't tried the NXT 2.0. However like others have said it is possible that you may have put on too much. I have a bad habit of doing that. The directions specifically state to spread a thin coat. Also, I find that if I let the section I have just waxed dry for 7-10 minutes it seems to work/remove better.

You may want to try it again on a small spot and see if this works. Good luck!

I've been using the original formulation NXT paste and liquid without issue. Can't speak to NXT 2 but its suprising to hear that it would be that greasy. Maybe a bad or contaminated batch?

I've been using the Gold Class and NXT for years. I like the NXT better, and it's the best wax I've ever used. Haven't tried the 2.0 or Zaino though.

Just an updated. I washed my car today for the first time since applying the NXT. It had a much larger bead than w/ the Zaino. As much as I hate the ordering, shipping, mixing, and general hassle of Zaino, it's worth it in the long run IMO.

In closing, I will say one good thing about the NXT. It seems to give a deeper color than the Zaino. I really like the look of the NXT once it's applied, dried, and de-greased.

What's everyones thoughts on using NXT as a 'basecoat' and topcoating w/ Z2?

Hey, after a little research, check this out:
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=1

Maybe I can hassle w/ the NXT to get the color that I like, and then follow up w/ Z-CS for the protection? I'd still like to know if I can layer the Z2 on top of the NXT.

There might be some bonding issues with the NXT as a basecoat for Z2. I would actually do the opposite if I were you. They are both sealants, but I think that the NXT would be better as the top coat if you wanted to use them together.

As a little side note, I just used Zaino for the first time a while back and I wasn't all that impressed. I'm not in it for the durability, so that really isn't a selling point for me. I went back to Meg's #26 and I just absolutely love the way it looks. Zaino made my paint look dull and it did have the "plasticy" look I don't like. To each their own, but I love my 26.
