You could never have nice things...
I have never been so upset about anything to do with my car. I get my car washed yesterday and do a look over afterwards, all of a sudden I see this..... A 1/4" gash in my passenger door. The damage is all the way down to the metal, no paint left. I know it didn't happen at the car wash because it's hand wash and I observed it the entire time. I parked her in a parking lot a few days ago and I think someone kindly opened their door and banged my car :-( so my question, which is the best plan of attack to fixing this? I know I don't see that side of the car often but it just irks me knowing its there. And I'd hate to have it rust. Thanks guys.
If you have it painted they're going to want to repaint the door and blend into the adjoining panels. They can't blend clear coat so they wind up completely shooting all of the panels with clear coat entirely.
A key job on the rf quarter panel wound up costing about $1800. Comprehensive covered it though.
There are companies that spot fix paint. They usually travel to used car lots just patching up nicks and scratches. Ask around at a few used car lots and try and find out who they use. Probably easiest and cheapest way to fix it.
