Previous/current SN95 owners, have you noticed the distinct differences in washing the S197? On my 96GT, water had several places it loved to hide and aggrevate me, after I'd dried the car and drove it, only to find water spots (on a black car) :bang: Like under the rear licence plate, under both tail lights (water coming from both sides of the trunk lid), under the head lights, between the C-pillar/beltline area, and from under the S281 spoiler I had on it. With the 05, I've only noticed a few minor areas: between the lower edge of the grille and the bumper, and (for some reason) the front edge of the driver's door, but only after opening it. Anyone else notice these things?

Water likes to hide in the trunk area and if you have a spoiler, in the cracks where the spolier connects to the trunk.

For me its under the front grill and the bottom seem of the small rear windows.....
and of course, just make sure to open the doors to get the water that hides in there... that's it though.

Truthfully, it seems much easier that drying my old 88 GT.

Washed mine for the first time yesterday. Probably some areas I missed but the truck and spoiler areas, as previously mentioned are two. Will have to checkout the front door next time. Overall, it was the easiest car I have washed that I can remember. The wheels (standard) are going to take some effort but still better than most.

I find it pretty easy to wash. Only tough spots are under/around the spoiler and the grille.

i noticed that about the doors also after i shut the door one day and water started streaming down it, i believe it is coming from under the mirrors. Just make sure you do a quick wipe under the mirrors and it doesn't happen.

I've noticed the same for the front grill. When I'm done, I roll up a chamois and let it sit across the bottom of the grill for a while. That usually takes care of the water that hides in there.

I could see the front grille being a pain to clean when it gets loaded with bugs.

You just have to avoid cottage country from May--July. LOL.

Water does hide and bead down after you dry in certain locations. I find it a lot easier to wash than my Probe GT.

I think this is one of the hardest cars to wash and dry! My 02 didnt have quite as many little places water could hide.

Around the back and side windows, that groove holds water. I gotta use the edge of the absorber in the crack all the way around the window to get all the water out.
And the running edge above the doors on the roof, that crack holds water.
And around the windshield, again, I use the edge of the absorber in the crack to dry it completely.

And oh my, the grill with the honey comb, some of them not hollow, is gonna be a bear to clean come love bug season!!! Water definately gets trapped there as well, in fact around the entire front grill.

The gas door, with the little lip, that holds water, I am afraid that could be a potential rust spot the way it holds water.

Around the tail lights and trunk, have to open the trunk to get that whole area dry.

Trust me, I am NOT complaining. I love to clean, I love a clean car. And living on a dirt road, I do it alot.

Ya, the grill is the biggest water collector. I'm wondering if maybe some of that canned air would help to blow it all out.

I have said this before but I will say it again. To get on the small quarter windows in the back: Just blow the crack starting from the side closest to the door and keep blowing as you travel to the back of the car along the bottom quarter window. viola. All my tricks to wash and dry the car are somewhere in the car care section. Just search for "tricks" by Badandy

I was skeptical....The Mr. Clean Auto Dry really works!!.. you still may have to dry some, but whatever you miss and drips down will dry without spotting...
