Vert Top Question

I have an '07 GT Vert. My question is: is there any special care to take when taking the top down? Reason I ask is my friend's parents had an '83 (back in the day!) that we always took out cruising. When we folded the top down, he always took care to fold the top (by hand) so as not to make crease marks. It was a power top, but he would lower a little, then straighten the folds, then lower some more, etc.... They were very particular about the car and it showed. My friend said to make sure to do that on mine, but it seems nearly impossible with the Z frame. Should all I do is press the button and let it go down itself?

I had a '65 Mustang and a Jeep Wrangler. With those tops, it would help to 'assist' the top as it came down and get it folded correctly. On my '07, it seems to be better engineered and I don't see any areas I could help it to make any difference. Just make sure you don't put the top down when it is wet!

I have an 02 and just press the button and let it go, really don't see anyway to fold the top as back in the old days.

Pop sides, push button, smile from ear to ear.
Those are my steps.

on a 2nd note... Has anyone noticed that if you have the top down, then take it up when you're done there are creases (sp?) in the top that initially look bad? However, after they are up and tightened, the creases dissapear over night.

Yep! Mine does the same thing... Wrinkles mainly in the back part of the top, but after sitting in the sun a little while or letting it sit over night, they go right away...

Keep the top treated with "303" and there are no creases or marks.

I ordered some of the "303" 'vert top cleaner and "303" protectant yesterday. Can't wait to see how it works!

Used the "303" for the 1st time yesterday. Initial reaction is "WOW", top looks great!!

Hopefully it will continue to look great on my new 'vert!
