When I bought my (used) 2000 tropic green v-6, i was rather dissapointed when, after washing and drying the car, watermarks were left completely down the rear fascia. My father, with a 2001 v-6 in the same color (ill post pics, soon... its funny seeing the same cars in the drive way...) said the water gets trapped in the little water-way between the trunk and the rear window. So i would dry that out, but still... more water.

Soon after, I removed the little rubber stoppers on the trunk, and A QUART OF WATER POURS OUT OF IT. This happens everytime i wash it. I cant think of where the water would get in.

I just thank god the trunk isnt metal. Rust-city...

Does anyone else's mustang do this? my father's does NOT. I have seen, though, other mustangs with water marks down the rear fascia.

hmm if you are pulling hte rubber stops on the bottom of the trunk lid and water is ocming out, seems like it may be getting in around the spoiler (assuming you have one). Pull the rubber stops out, and tighten the bolts down to it. Or maybe better yet, pull the spoiler off, and go to home depot, get some small rubber round gaskets that will go around hte screw on the spoiler. That way when you put it on with the gaskets in place, it should seal the whole area up pretty good and not let anything in.

Ahhhh... good idea. I never would have guessed around the spoiler, i was thinking somewhere near the rear window. I will try it out... and definitely go to home depot... 'cause i work there! ehehe.

The spoiler on my 03 would constantly retain water, so after drying it, and coming back about five minutes late there would be water running down the left side of the spoiler and the rear fascia. So much water got in there that when the temperature would get real low it would freeze into ice inside the spoiler and would make this weird noise everytime I opened the trunk.

Well I decided to take the spoiler off and lo and behold when I took the spoiler off the car, all of this water came out of the left side of the spoiler itself, it was alot. It seems that one of the rubber seals that is put on the spoiler due to there being a hole for the screw, it is supposed stop water from getting in the spoiler, was ripped. So I drained all the water, sealed it up with double sided tape and no more water.

I get water down the rear of my car, but nothing major.if you wash it, then lift the trunk, i find a lot of water in the area surrounding the trunk. I am under the impression that this is on purpose..just have to whipe the rear twice....ps....
