Touch Up Bottles
#1
Hey all,
Got some dings and scratches and am picking up the touch up bottle from the dealer tomorrow. I hate those things. The little brush is just too course and leaves brush marks on the chips. Does anyone have any tricks they've used with the touch up paint from Ford to make it look somewhat presentable?

I clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Apply touch up paint so it overlaps a little. Wet sand with 1,000 then 2,000 grit sand paper. Polish and wax. Can never tell there was ever a scratch or stone chip.

Also, there's no law that ways you need to use the pitiful brush those bottles come with. Even a cheap artist's or hobby store paint brush (of suitable size) will make the application much easier. A bit of laquer thinner can be used to clean the brush for re-use

With dings and scratches may as well just do a Comp Claim and have it repaired.
For a chance at making it look resonable. Your paint needs to be non-metallic. Over fill and forget about it for a week giving it time to harden before sanding. It's art work. If your not good at that type of work, it will not workout for you. Just end up look crapper than it did to began with.
Good Luck!
