So I washed my car on Saturday. It was in pristine condition. NO SCRATCHES! Tonight, I came out of a restaurant and noticed a scratch on my rear bumper about 2 inches long. I ran my finger across it and could feel a ridge. I was bummed but at least it was on the bumper and not incredibly noticeable. Then, I spot a second scratch!!! This one was about 9 inches long on the rear fender near the gas cap!!! Then, I notice a THIRD SCRATCH! This one was actually a series of scratches all around the center of the drivers door!!!!

Who ever did this is lucky they are still alive and I'm lucky that I didn't catch them because I would probably be awaiting trial for murder right now... So, now that I have that off my chest, does anyone out there have any suggestions on repairs for these types of scratches? The scratches on the body panels are not nearly as deep as the one on the bumper. Any suggestions on products and technique would be greatly appreciated. Pics follow...

The first thing I would do is try to buff it out. Wax over it and see if that helps. If the scrathces are too severe for that to work, you'll have to try something else, but I don't have any ideas as I've only had minor scratches.

The next thing I'd do is find out if there are any security cameras in the parking lot where you were.

Those spots look to be scratched through the clear and basecoats, nothing you can do about that except getting them sanded down, primered and painted.

It would be nice to get payback too

If you can finger nail it, your not going to rub it out. Just make a claim. It's only a non-chargeable Comp Cliam. Hope your deduct is low.

That kinda stuff really pee's me off. People see a nice car or any 'big bad mustang' now a days and they get filled with jealousy or something and have to scratch it or vandalize it just to make themselves feel better about the POS they drive. I know the local walmarts have cameras watching the parking lot, I hope that resturant you were at does too. Those scratches do look very deep.
