Serious dull areas/smudges/scratches on fanblades - help!

I have several dull, smudge-like areas on my fanblades that don't come off with washing. I've also waxed with Meguiars NXT and Cleaner Wax - no go. I can't feel these areas with my fingernail, so I'm hoping it's just a clearcoat issue and not the metal. Any ideas how to get these off? Here's some pics:

This next one is a result of me using Meguiars Scratch-X to try to remove one of the dull areas . doh! Any ideas?

Did you use something like Mothers Powerball or another kind of buffer?

I had similar issues when I used my Mother's Powerball the first time. When you add the polish (Mothers Aluminum) make sure you have the drill set at a high enough RPM. I used a Dewalt cordless 18V and on setting 1 for speed my wheels looked like crap. I changed over to speed 2 and Chip Foose was right! I had enough time and it was easy enough that I even hit my pickup wheels before putting it away!

I believe so. You think I got a shot at a warranty claim?

Not sure you should be using Mothers power ball, since it's designed for use on raw metal, and these rims are clear-coated.

But I just got mine last week, and haven't had to mess with this yet.

You might be

It could be the wheels were a re-work (ie. Wheels that weren't finished well the first time and re-done). Usually on a re-work you can't tell... but maybe they did a sloppy job.

Oh yeah... mother's powerball is not the right product to use on clearcoated wheels
