NO experience detailing, so professional i must go....

ive been waiting and waiting for the weather to clear up here in NYC and it seems like that time has come. i wish i didnt have to but i think ill be taking it to a hand car wash to get detailed. i HATE letting other people that I dont know touch my car but i have no choice. i have no experience with a buffer and i feel that if I tried, id do more harm than good. its fairly new (06 black GT) but since my EX put it through a few auto car washes, theres a like a billion scratches on it. i jsut hope these guys can take them all out. if anyone can reccomend a place (im in Staten Island NY) id appreciate it. also, price really doesnt matter to me. car is too important to me to try and get a deal and it come out looking like ****

you dont need a buffer, you just need a lot of elbow grease, patients, blood sweat and tears...lol

seriously though you can get most of it out with Scratch X by hand but on black it takes a very, very long time. I spent a couple hours on my hood once by hand just to see how well the stuff works, and the results were great but a PIA just because it was black

instead of scratch x you might want to try the Meguirs Swirl Remover 2.0 product for those swirls on black cars.

if used properly the buffer will do the job in a quarter of the time

yeah but he said he didnt want to attempt to use a buffer because he never has before, if you are going to go the buffer route the best bet is M80 to get the swirls out.

This should help you out http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-polishing.html There's a lot of good info on their site. www.griotsgarage.com is a good site too.
