I ordered one for my 05 GT from the dealer yesterday. Just $169 Canadian with my Mustang Club discount. I figure that the black bra won't look too bad on my black car and since I'll only be using it for highway trips, it won't be on the car much anyway.

 

I bought mine from the Ford dealer. Your right. In Florida, you must have a bra if you want to save your front hood edge and paint. My 05GT is black so it "blends". Only 30 days till B-day!!!!. (Usually they start in May.)

If you can afford it, get the 3M "clear bra." It will not allow dirt to get under it like a regular bra. It cleans ups well and is 99.9% invisable. If you can go the extra mile, get the coverings for the headlights and fog lights as well. I've used it on my last five cars - works great!

 

Living in Louisiana, I also have to worry about lovebugs. I will definitely try the PAM idea. Wouldn't hurt to spray on/ wipe off after I wash it on the weekends to help keep the bugs from sticking.

 

I was actually going to suggest this. A friend of mine suggested this at the end of last season but I never had the chance to try it. He kept a couple of rags in the trunk, when he got where he was going he would give the front end a quick rub down, this got about 80% of the debris, the rest would pretty easily hose off later.

in spite of what my 'friend' told me i would not try this. i did it on my little honda a couple of weeks ago. the stuff baked on. took me 3 hours to get it all off. didnt do any permanent damage but what a pia.

 

Looks much nicer than I though it would.
