Lawn sprayer as presoak/soaper
Ok I haven't gone to a carwash since about '00 (when I saw my '96 black stang turning white
) and rediscovered the joy of washing the car outdoors. At the same time I bought a PC, pads, MF and other quality products.
Since I have three black vehicles - the new stang, a truck and motorcycle - I'm always on the lookout for ways to keep the stable clean w/o introducing probs along the way. Something I tried today was to use the simple siphon of a lawn sprayer (the type to mix and spray chemicals) w/ a small amount of car shampoo. The contact time of the concentrated soap on the car (at low pressure) greatly aided in the removal of the dirt and grime on the body. A double treatment and flat rinsing spray on waxed wheels even removed the brake dust without further washing.
Just something I thought I would pass on. I once was considering a foam gun but now am happy w/ these results.
