I washed the car today and decided to really give it a good detailing.

Is it just me. or is the rear window nearly impossible to get cleaned streak free especially on the inside?

Sorry, just had to vent a little...

It's not just you.
But try water / vinger solution with an old newspaper; that works best.

Yep, that's not just an old wive's tale. My Mom used that for years.

I use paper towels heavily saturated with Zep Window Cleaner, and just wipe side-to-side. I wipe very gently, and it dries streak-free. I don't try to buff it dry, as this might break the defroster grid. Zep works about 100 times better than Windex. I once saw a janitor clean bathroom windows with an old rag and Zep, and couldn't believe how well it worked. That is when I asked him what he was using. Zep is a commercial product, so you might have to look around for it.

Let me tell you about the back window and venting.......a couple months ago I was doing the interior cleaning thing with all of my bottles of stuff (Windex, Quick Detailer AND MEGUIRES ULTRASHINE) sitting on the garage floor just outside the car door. So when I went to spritz the inside back window with Windex, well.....you can guess which bottle I blindly reached out and grabbed. Yes, it's true, tire gloss on windows is not recommended. Particularly on our cars. That "quick, 5 minute streak free clean" took about an hour. Yelling and swearing was louder than the Shaker ever could be. Meguires Ultrashine is now kept away in a corner of the garage.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that's funny!

I myself use Invisible Glass - but that back window is still very hard to clean.
