I don't want to put something as harsh as degreaser in my engine compartment. My buddy recommended just a pressure washer. Are there any objections to this idea. I am skeptical because of the electrical.
I need some responses soon as I want to get it clean before I install my dress up parts.

I hand wipe mine down and for the dust/dirt that's loose and I can't reach I get those cans of air for blowing dust out of typewriters and computer keyboards.

Simple Green works great! Make sure your engine is cold though. I'd cover certain parts such as your alternator, fuse box, and anything else electrical your concerned about with small grocery style bags and then just clean them up later by hand. When your done spraying the Simple Green on wait about 5-10 minutes and then rinse off the entire engine with a light trickle of water. I would'nt spray hard and I definately would not use a pressure washer.
I've been using Simple Green on my engine's for years now and never had an issue.
