I waxed my car last weekend, and I got wax on the rubber sills around the door windows and on a few other plastic pieces. Anyone know how I can get it off?

Happened last weekend. Good luck man. That is the cardinal rule. Do not touch rubber with the wax. Sorry bro, no home remedies here.

I got some off near the driver's door/window with Windex......didn't think it would last, but it hasn't shown back again. Anyway, give it a try.

Peanut Butter and a toothbrush.

Something about the oil in the peanut butter, and it may take a few tries - but it will work.

I'm serious.

Mothers Back to Black works good for that too.

$3 for a 10 oz bottle of Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer.
Meguiars Trim Detailer

"Trim Detailer also helps to remove unwanted contaminants and wax residue."

Mothers Back to Black works good for that too.

But I also use a tooth brush and a towel to keep it from running down my paint.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. The peanut butter sounds interesting, but I'll probably try some Back to Black or the Meguiare's stuff.

Dawn dish washing soap is used to remove wax from the paint before using a clay bar or applying stripes. It also works good at removing wax from trim and is cheaper than Mother's Back to Black.

Ok I tried the peanut butter thing and it worked great! Used Skippy creamy and an old tooth brush. I have the Back to Black, tried that last weekend and it didn't help. Must be the oil in the peanut butter.

As crazy as it may seem peanut butter works real well in cleaning many things. Try it on decals/stickers, removes any residue, works every time.

Well, I got some Mother's back to black. Worked great and got all of the wax off. Not only that, it left all the pieces looking better than they did when I bought the car. I decided to use it on not only the window seals, but also on the rear view mirror housings, and since I have a V6, on the flat black rocker pannel piece. I thought about trying it on the grill, but the thought of trying to get an even coat over all of those honeycombs put that idea right out of my head.
