I dont have a vacuum at home thats good for the car. And tired of paying a buck or so to vacuum at the car wash.
Wondering what you guys use to vacuum up your cars.

I have been looking into shop vacs with the floor and crevice tools, but if theres something out there that you can recommend, and not kill the bank book for a vacuum cleaner dedicated to the car only.

Bought a Shark cordless 10.8V with attachments from Lowes. It works fine. I don't like the plastic vacuum hose at the car wash or from a shop vac. dragging across the paint, and it was a hassle to put a towel down.

For me the Shark doesn't have enough power. I bought the biggest wet/dry vac I could find. This way if I need to really clean the carpet I get out the garden house and the shop vac. Add some water, a little bit of soap and then use the vacuum while apply water to clean up everything. Sure beats getting them shampoo'd profesionally.

I have a shop vac for the big cleanups and a cordless dustbuster for the quick cleanups. The big shop vacs are so handy to have. I bought a extension hose, that makes it easier to use in the car. Also, Lowes or Home depot stocks all kinds of attachments for the shop vac, they're not expensive.

We have a central vac and it really sucks. Its really good at cleaning the house and does a really good job at cleaning cars. I took it over our 93's interior and it got ever little peice of dirt. THey are really expensive but they are a good investment (not to mention it helps out your homes value).

Dyson for me. I love it, wife hates it. Let me clarify... wife hates me using her fancy vacuum.

I use one of the small shop vac-type units for my car. I think it's a Stinger. About $20 or so at Home Depot. I did buy a second hose for it to give me some extra length to make it easier to crawl around the floorboards.

I had a big shop vac but was afraid of it tipping over onto the car. The Stinger works well and is very portable. I have a corded 12 volt dustbuster I use at car shows for last minute touch ups. They make a good combo.

Correction on Shark. My car has black carpet-least amount of dirt shows,I vacuum it right away, carpet never has been DIRTY. Just because I'm this really nice wife, I detailed hubby's truck Mon. It was filthy! The Shark could not handle the ground in dirt and bits of shell and pebbles (small bits, but a lot). Had to go to carwash for vacuum. Truck looks great now.

I have some Craftsman corded autovaccuum. Works great on the carpets and seats, but it lacks any kind of attachments for the crevaces.
