Hey all

Does anyone have any ideas how to protect the frontend/bumper from road stones?

I had a Cervinis body kit installed and the front bumper has gotten hammered by road stones, pebbles, sand etc. taking chips out of the front flat part of the bumper and lower airdam section.

Is there a thicker harder paint? a harder clearcoat? anything that might prevent or reduce the possibility of the paint getting chipped off?
I have heard something called an invisable bra? That might protect the front.

I drive alot of miles. Mostly interstate roads and the like and have never had this much damage before, but then again I have never had a front bumper that has this much flat front surface to hit either.

I ask here because more people read these forums then just my auto body shop.

Any help, suggestions, referals would be greatly appreciated.
Sucks cause this was the first long roadtrip, 14 hours. and the car was just returned after the kit was completed.

Thanks

What is your following distance? Maybe increase it to 4 or 5 seconds. 3 should suffice but I noticed how fast people count when thay drive.

There's a clear coat, think 3M, that you can have painted on you bumper and hood. Works like a bra.

3M and LLumar both have a film you can apply to protect your paint. The only problem I have with my Llumar install is where it crosses the vinyl stripes, it becomes very visible.Otherwise, at a few feet, you can not even see it........unless it is pollen season

The product is called 3M Paint protection. You can also look up XPEL on the internet. They can make a custom kit for you. Soon I will have in my hands a 50 yard roll of this stuff and will be selling it by the foot. I ran into the same problem you are having. I plan on protecting the front bumper and the rocker panels.

Thanks. I will look into the 3M and LLumar products.
Unfortunatly I will have to have the front repainted . At least my stripes are painted on.
Looks like another $1000 to do it 8( Hopfully less.
