I had a prblem on my 02 mustang with bugs getting stuck in the paint on the front of my car. I do a fair bit of interstate traveling, so I get a lot of bugs on the front of my car. The apartment complex where I live doesn't have a place for me to wash my car, so I was wondering if any of you knew a good way for me to get the bugs off of my car without having to wash it all of the time, like a product made for this sort of thing tat wouldn't require me to rinse it off. I usuaually wash it once a week when I go home to my parent's house, but I can't wash it during the week, and I don't want bugs eating into the paint of my brand new car.

Bug shield is all that comes to mind.

Also I doubt giving the car a tattoo will help keep bugs off. Just kidding, oh and I’m sure everyone will get mad, cause I posted a Chevy!

I think that only helps prevent them on your windshield, doesn't do much to keep them off the bumper cover and in the grille.

The only thing that I can think of (and all it would protect is the first quarter of the hood) is the 3M clear guard that can be applied to the hood. That will at least protect the painted portion of the nose of the car from rock chips and bugs

As far as washing them off... Just get an nice soft cloth and start rubbing.

Put some clear plastic wrap on it. The same stuff you use in your kitchen. When it gets covered in bugs just tear it off and apply a new peice.

Anybody know where I can get the 3M clear guard stuff? They make kits for the hood, bumper, mirrors, etc...I did a search but the website said rockgard or something and it was a wholesale dealer. I E mailed them but no response back. I do know that many professional truckdrivers spray "PAM" on the fronts of their rigs to keep bugs from sticking. It really works wekk they just wipe off! Thanks

Got it on ours couple of months ago; the only person who has noticed it is a professional photographer.

I have heard there is a clear front end bra, like those black ones, except almost invisible...take it to a do-it-urself carwash, and get really close w/ the pressure washer...it worked for me

Thanks Woodie I might order some bulk and try it. Did you do it yourself? I just want something to protect the edge of the hood for now.

Useful info Woodie.

You wouldn't have any good pics of the front of your car with the 3M ?
