Fixing A Pitted Windshield

Hello everyone! Just curious, is there a method that the do-it-yourselfer can use to fix a pitted windshield? If so, can you please point me in the right direction? After a close inspection, I noticed that the windshield needs some attention.

Pitted? I am not sure about pitted but if you have atmospheric debris like most windshields I see, I know of 2 fixes:

1.) Scrape windshield with a razor blade scraper

2.) clay bar it

either one should get rid of the stuff that tears up wiper blades.

It depends on the size of the pit. If it's up to a bullseye type ding, many insurance companies will wave your deductable if you elect to have it repaired instead of replacing the windshield. The only down side is it doesn't totally remove the damage, but a good repair will come out looking like a bug hit.
