I am planning on waxing my '06 in a couple weeks, so I asked my friend's dad what he uses on his '05 M3 and he told me he uses:

Adam's Clay Bar
Adam's Detail Spray/Clay Lubricant
Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax
Menzerma High Gloss Acrylic Shield

I know a lot of people on here use Meguiar's but I am wondering if anyone else has used any of the other products. I plan on using these products but I would like to hear what you guys have to say before I do.

Also, what kind of towels/rags should I use? Where can I buy them?

I've read nothing but good reviews on Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax. Never heard of the other stuff, though. But if your friend's dad's M3 looks hot, then go ahead and use those products.

As for towels, microfiber is your best friend. And don't forget to buy a can of Invisible Glass.

Quoted for absolute truth! I do like the Zaino glass polish, but it is a mild abrasive, and it leaves a dusty residue EVERYWHERE. It will work great on a neglected surface, but Invisible Glass stays in my trunk with a cheap microfiber towel. I can completely clean all the glass in about 3 minutes, and it works VERY well.

the best towels are all white, cotton and made in the USA - it is all i have used for years and no risk of scratches, dye transfer, etc. also, buffs the wax off better than microfiber as is natural fiber that absorbs better...

I prefer 100% cotton microfiber towels. They're nearly impossible to find, but worth their weight in gold when you do. I got 4 of them from a buddy who used to detail cars at a Lexus dealership, and he can't even find more of them.

Ok, I found some here http://www.dftowel.com/

NXT tech wax is a wonderful product. I use it on my 99 and it does wonders. I have also heard that Liquid Glass is a great non-synthetic wax.
