First Downside of Cloth Convertible Top
Saturday night was the first time I put my California Car Cover (Plushweave) on with the top up (I've used it numerous times with the top down). When I took the cover off tonight, you wouldn't believe the amount of lint on the cloth top. It looked like I had a gray cloth top instead of black.
Out came the lint roller. Used 10 total sheets to get the top clean. I think I'm going to try and wash the cover in one of the big laundromat washers. If it still doesn't take care of the lint problem, I think the solution might be to put down a sheet of plastic over the cloth top before I put the cover on.
Anyone have any other solutions?? Thanks.

I made the mistake of drying my cloth top off with a new microfiber towel, had blue lint all over it Now I make sure to use towels that have been through the wash a few times and haven't had it happen again. I think if you run the cover through the wash it'll be fine after that.

California Car Cover tried to talk me out of that cover for that very reason. I had one on my 66 with a white top and no problem. I bought it anyway with my new black (vinyl) top and have not had any problems either.

I'm thinking you might be better off with an old bed sheet over the top! You can roll/fold the cotten bedsheet off the top cover, and not have to worry about surface scratches from the plastic touching your paint.

Went to the laundromat yesterday with the cover. We'll see how it does this time around when it gets uncovered in a couple of days. In the meantime with all the rain we've had, I've completed my ark and am rounding up animals.
