Electrical issue

I have a 1988 mustang, I've been working on it for 3 years, I recently started it back up and it ran great, I shut it down and cleaned the plugs and contacts in the distributor, when I went to re-start it, it's cranked and started, but then I heard an electrical pop, like a fuse or relay, and now I have no electrical to anything, my fuel pump doesn't pressurize, I have no head or tail lights, the only light I have is my dome light and my amp light on the dash. My buddy says it sounds like my voltage regulator popped, does anyone else have any ideas?

Yeah check your fuses. It sounds like you might have popped one of the main fuses
