Best all around Tire
Well I got the Passat. It is a nice ride, quick , tight, and very clean. it was a lease end. If it only lasts until my Wife's HHR is paid off it has done it's job. If it is still running then well maybe I will get a 50th Anniversary and keep the Passat for eveyday.
Well....to answer the question anyway; I owned Gatorbacks and hated everything EXCEPT they DO glue the car to the pavement. Now I have the General Exclaim UHP and would recommend them....but they've been discontinued-they give 90% of the handling of the GB but with much less noise ride and harshness. Plus....I'll get at least 36,000 miles out of them. BUT....that said...of tires actually being made based on a lot of research I've done the best all around tire-handling, ride, noise, treadwear and value-is the Kumho Ecsta ASX. For $104 or thereabouts on Tire Rack they can't be beat and to get an equivalent tire you have to jump to the $120-$130 range. And ignore the averaged rating of user reviews on Tire Rack....if you filter by Ford most of the reviews are for the Mustang and the average is in the mid 8 range which is really good
