1 new rim and 3 used ones?

hey I own a 1987 5.0 coupe LX. it has 15" weld racing rims on it. the problem is this: the other night I was riding back on the highway and I hit something in the road which completely destroyed my right rear rim. ive only owned this car for less than a month and it came with disclored and worn in rims. the guy before me obviously didnt take good care of the car or the rims. so now I have one very shiny chromed out rim and 3 bad looking ones. what can I do to make my rims look better?i have heard of some acid stuff i can use but im not sure where to get any good stuff. can anyone help me? if it helps I can take some pictures tom

If the weld racing rims are polished aluminum (I think they are), then some aluminum polish and some elbow grease should clean them up well. If they are as bad as you say, maybe a good idea would be to take them off the car.
If they are chromed, as long as the finish isn't badly scored or pitted you should be able to clean them up well.

Yea they are polished aluminum. im gonna try to clean them hopefully itll work. i would take a pic or two but my driveshaft just fell out from the bottom of my car. i think the u joint broke. i had to get it towed to a shop where they will no doubt charge me too much for what is likely an easy fix. i dont have the equipment or the time to do it myself. does anybody know what it usually costs to fix the driveshaft in this kind of situation?
