My ideal Mustang was never built but it would be a combination of the 1969/70 Boss and Mach 1.

Body: 69 Boss 302 (no side scopes in the rear quarter panel like the 69 Mach1 had)

Color: Grabber Blue (not available in 69)

Hood/Front: Matte black like the 69 with a ram air shaker (Shaker not available on 69 Boss), with 69 style hood pins. Air Dam like a 69/70 Mach 1. Blacked out head light housings like the Boss

Trunk/Rear: Blacked out like the 69 Boss but with a honey comb rear of a 70 Mach1. Rear Window black louvers, and black spoiler

Other: Rear stripes and side molding like the 70 Mach 1.

My ideal stang would be a black 69 boss 429 with all modern stuff under it but having the stock appereance on the outside and inside. Hopefully if I build hotrods one of these days I will have one of those but finding a boss 429 engine will be fun.

I came THAT close to buying a Boss 302 in 1970, but I have told that story before so I won't repeat it.

My perfect Mustang would be based on the current model, have heated seats, IRS, a 5 speed tiptronic transmission and would be DHG.

ditto, that's be freakin awesome
I'd love a fuel injected 429 with the suspension&drivetrain of the GTR concept.

I just want my DHG 2001 Bullitt with:

Mechanical: 1. a K&N FIPK, 2. a tune, 3. a MGW shifter, 4. plus some new rubber.

Cosmetic: 1. replace "GT" badges behind front wheels with those from the 1968 Fairlane/Torino/Ranchero (not my idea I will admit, but it looks GREAT), 2. a "Police Interceptor" badge (either somewhere inside or on the back) and of course, 3. a Lucille badge inside (below the center console, in front of the shifter, next to the lighter/power outlet) so everyone knows my babys name. I actually want to use the letting from the B.B. King Edition guitar from Gibson (see pic, in between where you tune it).

I would be the happiest man alive. Just ask my girlfriend, she is sick of hearing about it.

Edit: I just noticed, I really need to stop obsessing and work harder at saving to buy it.

Make mine a '70 Boss 302, Calypso Coral, Black interior('03-'04 Mach 1 seats), front & rear spoilers along w/rear window slats, 5 sp. tranny(don't need no stinkin 6 sp.), upgraded suspension with some 17" Magnum 500's w/Nitto drag radials and of course a new sound system.

The one I wrecked in 1965....brand new off the show room floor with 5.6 miles on the speedo.....

I was young (18), stupid and I thought, Invincible.......

1- I Learned that 18 was really young...too young perhaps to own a brand new
Mustang....

2- Learned (later in life) that I was really, really S-T-U-P-I-D...

3- Now know that I am really not Invincible....

Moral to this story....

If you're 18, and think you are invincible......
Don't be Stupid

2005 Concept. God that was one awesome looking Mustang. If Ford actually build car like that (call it whatever you want, I wouldn't mind even if they call it Pinto) I'll be 1st in line to buy one.

I'm not sure what color I'd have, but that mustang is perfect too.
and I'll add 6 speed to go with the cobra engine.
