Your first pony car
Thanks! Always wanted a 67/68 fastback I could fix up since I was a kid. Finally have the means to get one and the space to work on it. Of course the fact that I could afford it means it needs lots of working on!
My first Pony Car was the Mustangs bigger Cousin, 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7. Factory 351 V4 Cobra Jet with a 4 Speed Top Loader behind it.
It was also the last year of Sequential Turn signals from the Factory until 2010 on the Mustang.

heres my first- pic from 1982(I had hair!), taken about a week after I got it:

and here it is as it currently sits:

car sat in various garages engineless from 1984 thru a LOT of lifes curveballs, till July of this year when I finally got started on it. funny, at one time this car was the most important thing in the world too me, now its getting started mostly because I feel guilty for keeping such a neat car off the roads so long...big plan is a custom front cover for the 429, dual water pumps to make room for crank trigger and hydraulic cam advance, engine controls from a 05 3V (drive by wire/knock sensors and all...) the dual pumps will shorten it a little, and hoping the controls will allow me to keep the old 10.5~11:1 compression...unlikely, but if funds can be found, would love to top off with a set of Kaase boss9 heads...first things first, getting the rotten torque boxes out and new suspension- most likely RRS coilover strut front to ease the load on the relatively flimsy first gen frontend.
