[SIZE=1][SIZE=1]the corvette is a muscle car, the impala has been around since the late 50s the monte the late 60s ''Camaro/firebirds are now out of production'' a said truth but lasting thirty five years is a great achivement plus all the ''rerealsed'' muscle cars the GTO, Chrysler 300 which had a hemi back in the 50s, high perf. Cadillacs

the truth is the mustang isnt really a muscle car most are V6s,the GT has been under powered for years and cobra and mach 1s are a fraction of mustang production

I have a 93 LX 'vert. My wife drives a 96 Cobra coupe. My daily driver is a 2000 Taurus and hers is a 96 Bronco. (She drives a city bus and must get to work at 4:00 in the morning regardless of the weather.) We also have a deposit down at the local SVT dealer and are first on the list to get a 06/07 Cobra, whenever they decide to come out. My father-in-law has a 97 Ranger and my mom has a 2003 Sable. My dad had various Fairmonts, LTDs and T-birds. My first car was a 69 Mustang coupe that I got when I was 16 (a looong time ago). I sold that two years after I bought my 93, so I've always owned a Mustang since I've been able to drive. Almost 30 years.

The Corvette has never been considered a muscle car. The first true muscle car (credited as such) is the original 300 which I think debuted AFTER the '53 'Vette.

The Mustang is in reality a pony car.

And there is NO WAY we can still consider the Impala and Monte Carlo muscle cars. Neither one even has a V8 option.

My first car was a 66 Mustang, next was a 74 Mustang, then a 89 Vert, then a 96, a 98, a 2000 that I recently sold to make room for a 05. I have never driven anything but Mustangs.

My dad has had too many Stangs to count. He now has a 02 Black on Black Vert. I guess thats where I got my love of Stangs from so I would say I come from a Mustang Family.

My Dad had a lime green 69 Mustang fastback GT, 80 Black sedan with red pleather interior, silver 86 LX, charcoal grey titanium 87 GT, 91 red GT, 96 laser red GT and finally will have 05 Satin silver GT later this month. My brother had a 80 cobra then dropped a 302 V8 in it, 79 pace car, 86 red SVO, 86 red t-top, 82 black GT, 94 vibrant red GT, 95 yellow GT and now has a 03 red Mach1 (awesome car). Me I finally will get smart and get either a sonic Blue V6 next spring or if I am patient I might hold off until 07 for either a new GT of a pre-owned 05 Sonic Blue GT if they are available.

We're a little of both. Dad raced Fords in the 50's and later sold Lincoln Mercurys. My first car was a '69 XL 429. My wife had an '82 5.0 Mustang when we got married. I later bought an '86 GT and now have a '94 GT. Right now we drive:

'68 XL 390 Convertible
'87 TBird Turbo
'94 GT Convertible
'04 Marauder

Mom drives an '02 GT, Dad a '98 CV and '97 F150.
Mom in law drives an '02 Taurus SES.

It's all in the family!

We have three so far--2002 GT convt, 1997 GT coupe (many modifications) 1966 coupe (my favorite). we are waiting ever so patiently for the 05 Convt, and are looking for a 65 fastback or a 73 mach 1 as a project car. Anyone have any info on where or who has one, would be greatly appreciated.
The only non Ford is a winter driver, which is a Jeep Cherokee, need something with all the snow we get here in NY

The Corvette is not a muscle car. It is a sports car! The Mustang is not a Musclecar. It is a poney car. A muscle car was generaly built off of an Automakers midsize models like the Chevelle, Torino, Charger ect.

Don't knock the V6 stang, it makes about as much hp as a 73-79 Corvette

How come you don't have more pictures of your 73 Mustang? You always keep same pictures for years now, while you always have new pictures of your 01 GT. Do you drive that car at all?

Nice car by the way.
That car stays at his parents house in Huntsville and I believe it is not in perfect running order at the moment. Brad can correct me on this

Not really, well at least in my immediate family....

Dad - once owned a 67 coupe and also a 351C 69 Mach 1 but sold it to buy a Porshe 944 when I was a child (I have fond memories of that car)... he now regrets having sold it as the Porshe is in non-running condition awaiting to be restored and currently drives a 90 Nissan truck.

Mom - likes Toyotas...has a 01 RAV4

Sister - only 14 but when she starts driving might get a Mitsu Eclipse (trying to brainwash her into driving my car when I get my new stang)

Me - 87 5.0 LX (SOLD) - beaten to death in high school sold to buy a new car for down payment. I MISS HER!
Currently own a redfire 2003 mustang v6.

Other family mustangs:
Uncle (dads side)- 2003 Mach 1, 96 Cobra, 90GT, 69 mach 1, 66 coupe....sold me the 87 LX for 2k, which I sold for 2K.

cousin (dads side) - 98 cobra, 2001 gt vert (daily driver)

other cosin (moms side) - 92 5.0LX (heavily modded with SC and 347 stroker), 66 fastback, 03 Infinity G35 coupe.

aunt (moms sister) - 2002 Ford Escape, 1994 Probe GT
