The GT has more potential if you're unhappy with the performance of your V6.

Must be a reason the dealership is trying to "get rid " of the GT. You need to decide what the advantage is to you. For some of us, the warranty is a big factor regarding the cost of ownership. Of course I''m an old Foggy with a 13 V6 so what do I know.

Good luck with what ever you decide.

No offense, but aren't dealerships trying to "get rid" of all their cars? Just saying

The car has been on the lot for 45 days so there is an urgency to get it off the lot. They also have a 2008 GT500 for $27k.

They are also the largest Ford dealership in the state and are the only authorized Roush dealership in AZ. Theysell tons of new mmustangs and not too many used ones.

For the time being, I am keeping my car. I have posted it on Craigslist to see if I get any bites. Well see.

I just checked the dealer's website and they dropped the car to $10,800. It is starting to get a little more manageable. Definitely got me thinking about it more and more.

Have you actually driven a pre-2010 S197? If not, I would if I were you. The newer car is a huge jump in refinement and it just drives so much better. You'd swear it was on a different platform, rather than just tweaked.

Sure, the 4.6 V8 is a great engine, but as a package the 2011 V6 is a better car.................in my opinion.

I also agree with this. The change from my stock 2007 GT to 2010 GT was noticeable - shift feel, steering feel, suspension tuning, interior appearance.

The '08/'09 Bullitt was an excellent update to the stock GT package, and I am glad it carried over into the 2010 GT. Of course, if you are going to change stock parts, it might be much a different end result for you.

Then there is the matter of a new Mustang coming too..

If money is not the problem ,keep what you have. The older GT could be a money pit. You know yours but don't know the GT. Who knows what will be available when the 2015 is released ? I went back once from a new 69 mustang to a used 68 Fairlane GT ,NEVER AGAIN !

It's also fun to take on new projects. We all have that excitement when we are shopping for new parts and accessories. Haven't done anything to the car for awhile now.
^Prior to this post I knew right away this is not about HP or the GT has more potential for higher max HP for you. This is about your just tired and fed up with people making comments about why did you buy a V6! I feel your pain bro but here is the thing. Forget those fools.

Bro, I looked at the picture of your 13 and truthfully, your car looks beautiful. I love your aftermarket hood, blue stripping on silver paint, etc. Your ride looks awesome and with a tune, cold air intake and gear swap, you will be faster than a stock 08 GT. No way do I think you should get rid of your 13 for an 08 GT. Its not an upgrade and unless you just dislike the 13 body and love the 08 body, keep your awesome ride. KEEP YOUR 13 V6 BRO!

If people seriously give you grief for it being a V6, ignore them because they are fools

Def the 2013!

Also, if any one happens to need a brand new 2010-2013 Maganaflow Quad axle back system, I'm getting rid of mine for dirt cheap. It lists for over $600 and I'm taking any reasonable offers (taking into consideration shipping costs) http://www.americanmuscle.com/magnaf...ck-1112v6.html
I wrecked my '12 before it finally showed up in the mail so let me know if I can help anyone out, feel free to shoot me a personal email at KRthisfall@gmail.com Thanks!

Thanks bro. I'm certainly no hater to the 4.7, Gt's. If the situation/question was reversed about trading a perfectly good 2008 GT to a 2013 V6, I would say no keep the 2008. If the OP would really like a GT model over there 13 V6 then what would make more sense is to purchase an 11 5.0 but no way a 2008 Gt.

My buddy has a 07 GT and while its in beautiful condition, I'm personally not a fan (fan meaning strong dislike) of those huge fog lights, the flat hood and rear end's of those years. I personally think the 13 model is far, far nicer and more refined than the 08 model.

The only 05-09 that I test drove was this particular GT. I do think my 13 is a little more refined. I love the GT fog lights, but I do think that the 13-14's look a lot better. I suppose that answers my question. I do get tons of looks when I am driving down the road. Today, a guy almost crashed his bike as he was crossing the street since he was staring at my mustang. Yesterday some kid chased me into the store to tell me how awesome my mustang was. Definitely have never had this type of feedback with any car I have ever owned.
