Would this work?

Say I had a 05-06 mustang , if went looking through a wrecking yard and found a Ford vechicle (SUV)and started measuring the factory CAI's and found one about 90mm. The say I pulled the sensor on it and mated it to a aftermarket CAI, and installed it on my mustang. Would I need a tune?

You would need a tune regardless of what parts you put on. By NEED what I mean is 'to get full advantage of'. The engine will retune itself whenever you start it up to a degree.
