I was driving home the other day from work, when I was approached by a 2003 or 2004 cobra ( silver)...he got right up next to me after cutting through a bunch of cars in traffic to get to me, then gives me a dirty look, as I gave a slight hi jesture, then guns it and cuts right in front of me and then slows down......


What the?$!# I said to myself, why the hate......I thought I would wave and be cool, but he gunned it , slowed down, gunned it again, so I switched lanes, and he finally drove off gettin over fast as he almost missed his exit playing with me................... :bang: WHY?!?!?!?!?


Anyone else have this happen or is he just a bitter guy!?

I usually get friendly people giving me the maybe that is why I was so surprised at this guy!

 

I can NOT get anyone to wave back if they're in a different year, especially 02-04's. And I'm only in a v6, but I think it's gotta be jealousy, they're mad they didn't wait another year or two. Just my .02

 

why you ask? Because we own a sweeter mustang. And they all know it and there pissed , they got an older one. In a year or too they ll all have one and we wont have to worry about it, just give them some time to raise money to put down. LOL

 

That would make sense. The older mustangs ( and other cars) wave, stop and yell things like " nice car"...always talking to me at gas stations, but this guy seemed very bitter or something.....after all he was the one who fought traffic to catch up to me, so I waved and he cut me off............I dont get it....his car was nice...a COBRA......and still ????

Well if you dont wave, then they think you are a snob and not a friendly '05 owner...........either way you lose...........I will be friendly and they can have the problem..........

 

Wait till the GT500 guys get out there and start waving at SN95 Cobra guys. That'll REALLY get em goin!

 

I like the 05, but I drive a Mustang II. The 99-04 people are probably angry the 05 resembles a Mustang II more than there Fox platform stangs. And 79-93 people are probably angry there car resembles an escort GT more than any other generation mustang. Im glad the mustang has the style to go along with performance again. The II had the style but not the performance unless you had the 302V8 (and you could easily add a 4barrel carb and dual exhaust and have all the HP you need), the 79+ maybe had a little more power but not the traditional mustang style.

 

05 v6 owners around here are quite the unfriendly bunch too.......That I do not understand- its the same friggin car I have.

The 05 Gt owners are all nice round here, I don't know why the other sixes hate on me.

 

Let's face it. The 05 looks most like the original Mustangs. We owned a 65.
Now I am going crazy waiting for the 2006 that I ordered!

99-04 have the same body style, so you probably mean that range.

I have an 01 and although haven't given any 05'ers the yet, that's only because they are never looking. When I first got my 01 I tried to wave at mustangs, rarely got a wave back. So I figured alright how bout just waving to other yellow mustangs, I believe I only got one other yellow mustang that I'd see often to wave. Most people in mustangs, yellow or not would just look at me like I was a freak for waving. So people just don't seem to wave regardless.

Even in other cars. My Dad has always had Corvettes and I remember when I was younger other Corvettes would always wave. After a break from Corvettes he got another in the late 90's. Suddenly few people would wave. People just don't wave anymore.

If I see an 05 and they are paying attention I'll give em the But if I don't I'm not jealous, just don't see you, or think you are looking, or maybe I'm just in a bad mood that day. As for the cutting you off and such, some people are just jerks.

 

Why? Whats wrong with the II's? There wouldn't be an 05 without the II!

I think its V6 owners in general. I mean probably most V6 drivers don't care about history or the family of the car or whatnot, just like that particular care and have no idea about history. I mean think about it, most of them have probably just sold some boring old car that never got waves and don't understand what the poop is going on. They see a wave and think "do I know you?" and give a quizzical look. They don't know its because of the car.

I have alsways thought that the 79-93 Stangs look like an Escort but everyone always said I was insane.

Theres a guy at Autozone which owns one (dont know what year) that looks exactly like an Escort. He asked me one day if I was bored with that body yet and if I was ready to trade it. He was not joking by the way. I said well, as you know this is the best Stang that Ford has ever produced that goes back to the Mustang heritage rather than the Escort heritage so I think I will keep it for a while and walked out.

Why, why, why do people have to be jelouse? Why? I see people out there with the Mercedes, Porshce's etc. and always compliment them knowing that my car is a joke infront of theirs.

I just wish this world was not so hateful.

What was Ford thinking by the way to build a Mustang that resembled an Escort. Does anyone know?

 

yeah, there are alot of mustang owners who treat there car like its just another automobile. Most people probably aren't huge car lovers like me or you.
