Lol that's pretty good. Though my car without any mods can consistently run in the 12's. difference is that my car can consistently do it without any real effort on my part. Still though it would be nice to get my car some bolt ons. I'm pretty sure the 2013's run low to mid 12's? I don't think the old cobras ran low 12's stock...high 12's?

Non at all, but auto's have always been faster at drag racing. (Depends on the auto and or what's done to it)

Fastest I've ever seen a 5.0 auto run is 12.72. So what's the fastest pass you've made? What's your trap speed?

Sorry, but autos have not always been faster at drag racing. In my experience they've actually been slower. I'm sure you could find plenty of evidence to support my claim also.

Aren't most dragsters auto not to mention the GTR which is auto as well as all the super cars that are auto as well? Also you do know changing a stall converter and a shift kit gives very nice time drops in the 1/4 mile. Though I think the auto being slower depends on what auto it is. For instance the dsg auto makes the auto gti faster than the manual.

I was referring to your car being consistently in the 12's without effort. And there's a huge difference between a dragster and your Mustang. **** this Swype on my phone

exactly... the dragster trans are built way different than the mustang auto trans. the mustang auto has alot more parasitic loss than a dragster.

It should be able to run 12's consistently I mean all you do is step on the peddle in a auto. Though I'm sure there are auto race transmissions that are faster at shifting then a person can do it. Like I said as well the auto GTI with the DSG is faster than it's manual counterpart. This kind of how's that depending on the auto transmission they can be faster than a manual. I'm sure with a shift kit and a high stall converter and a tune so it shifts at higher rpm would make a auto as fast or faster than a manual. Unless you can shift faster then a modded auto, but a auto doesn't always have to be modded the DSG is a very good one plus the auto trans in cars like the GTR and other super cars. Yes I know it's better than a mustang transmission, but the GTR beats vette's which is faster than a mustang so I guess auto takes the win depending on what type of auto it is.

Typically, the factory autos are slower then the manuals. Like Bones said, they have a greater parasitic loss then the manual, which means less power to the rear wheels. A decent driver in a manual could easily beat a good driver in a auto.

That's because there's more to getting your car down the track quickly than just "stomping on the gas pedal and going". I'm sure there are "race" transmissions that are fast, but you wouldn't want that in your car you drive on the street.

I'm not talking about a 100% stock auto. I know stock for stock most autos can't bet their manual counterparts. Though there are a few exceptions like with the vw GTi where the auto is faster than the manual. Also I'm not talking about my car I'm talking about cars in general. I never took my car to the track and if you look back at my post I did put a ? So I was asking a question not stating a fact.

you dont have a dsg...

hydraulic autos (like yours) have a lot higher parasitic loss. somewhere around 3 times more than a manual if i recall correctly.

manuals get the advantage of clutch dumping and you can shift super fast if you know what your doing.

stock for stock mustang of the same year manual will win. just sayin..
