To be completely and utterly honest. I don't think America is ready for a minority, or a female president yet.

Obviously it is the most ready it has ever been, but still it seems like kind of a stretch to go from no minority/woman being considered as a prospective winner, to having both in the next election.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Then again I'm just a 16 year old kid, so go on and debate.

That is a very sad statement. Almost every other major country I know of has had some sort of minority leader (usually female). And I thought we were supposed to be forward thinking and all for equality.

It is sad because I think it could be true.
However, we don't exactly have the best candidates either (and that goes for all of them).

I agree whole heartedly. I personally have no bias toward a caucasian male for president, and think anyone good enough for the job who the country wants should have a chance at it. However, there has been long standing tradition, and traditions like this die hard.

I believe it will take more than a few elections to warm up with the idea of it, but I do believe that in the next two decades we will see one.

I'm scared that when we do we will have a president that half the country doesn't like, and try to put that blame on the change from the white male. No doubt that some will try to make that connection, and from that moment on the chance of another woman/minority will be hindered.

Just my thoughts.

Don't believe the hype, if Hillary gets the democratic nod, she will be a lame duck cannidate. And you should have added to the list, welcome everyone from Mexico, please come and partake in our free government social programs and not pay a cent into the tax base!

McCain is a legitamate war hero, we owe him a debt of gratitude, but I don't think he is the right man for the job. He is a bit soft of immigration for my tastes.

In the end, it seems, it really just comes down to picking the lesser of the two evils. Some might see that statement as being ignorant and some might see that as being brutally honest. Whatever you may see it as, I have not seen a candidate that I am truly confident in and that is really disheartening.

Sadly this is a correct statement. I heard the best description of this upcoming election from someone yesterday.....

Electile Disfunction.....because NO Candidate really gets anyone excited!

I think the entire group of politicians needs to be changed....but we all know that isn't going to happen so we are stuck with the end result of the "lesser of evils".
