Porsches should be silver.
Mercedes....silver.
Ferraris must be red.
Model T's are black.
C5 and C6 Corvettes favor yellow.
1964.5 till now what color is the ultimate Mustang color?

Although the silver (in many grades) shows the curve details clearly on any car, the black gives the Mustang a little more muscler look..

 

Agreed. I've seen more photos of red Mustangs on websites and in calenders than any other color. Red is the classic Mustang color.

 

I would say red also, but red as in the Torch Red or Jalepeno Red.......

 

When I think about Mustangs in general I always picture the pics of the 64 1/2 as a white car. I love the GT/CS in white too...

When I think about Mustangs for me I thing Highland Green because Steve McQueen made me.

All this thinking is hurting my head...

mustangs are white, there are so many, and no body style stang ever looked bad in white. Much of the original 64.5 advertising had white, as well as lots of other white stangs running around.

 

I have a black Mustang, so obviously I like black, but when I think of a Mustang it's white with blue stripes or it's candyapple red.(growing up, it seems most people were repainting their older Stangs candyapple red, and that just stuck in my mind I guess.)

 

Clearly its white. Blue stripes are also a standard on the white.

 

Black is well black...I have black, but I don't see a lot of black 60's or 70's stangs. Maybe they didn't survive or maybe they just weren't popular but there is way more black now I think.

So I'm thinking white, I've always seen white, other than DHG as a special color, and of course red, there were so many red.

Those original '66 Shelbys were white with the traditional Ford blue stripes right. And then when Ford introduces the GT/CS all the publicity photos are of a white model.

It's not the sexiest of colors, but hey.

So I'm thinking white as of now.

 

There was a couple of years in the early 70's that the Mustang was not even offered in black...
