wanted33, I agree with ya on that photo. You will have a wonderful trip. Yellowstone is our favorite NP.
shaneyusa, Here is the actual 'corner' with the Glen Frey statue and the Flatbed Ford plus the Route 66 on the street. I actually got a break with no pedestrians or traffic. There is a quality gift shop on the other corner where they are playing all the Eagles songs which you can hear outside on the street. We bought a few Route 66 shirts there MADE IN USA. So cool!
Take It Easy!!

tourer, as I said Route 66 is a unique, and interesting journey. We've done it 4 1/2 times (1/2 time was a short run). Go ahead, and order a copy of "EZ Guide Route 66" by Jerry McClanahan. That will get you in the mode, and in the know. I call it Route 66 for Dummies, and don't leave home without my by my side. It's the best resource with easy to follow directions. Amazon has it at a reasonable price.

We're headed to Yellowstone via Fargo, ND from North Carolina in August. Our original plans were to take our Corvette, but I decided to take the wife's Mustang (the red one in my avatar) for a little more room. Yeah retirement is great my friend. You will love it.

tourer, don't put it off. The years can roll by and then it gets too late. I know it's a long way from your state but it's a trip that you will thoroughly enjoy in a sports/muscle car.
A couple of our Rte 66 ventures that I didn't include before.
Pop's in Arcadia, OK with over 700 varieties of soda pop. Like that giant soda pop bottle? Also this excellent museum in Clinton, OK, plus our favorite Rte 66 steakhouse in Amarillo, TX. We have been there 3 times now. Fun western theme inside and a good time.

That was just the 20 oz steak. Definitely had leftovers. We haven't seen anyone try the 72 oz challenge in person. Can't imagine.

When we went in I saw that 20oz side of cow, and thought I'll never eat all that. So I talked to the server, and we split that bad boy.

I could easily devour a 20 oz but a 72 oz is a whole different story! :yep:
