Turning old key into switchblade key

Anybody ever taken an older key fob and turned it into one of these? I hate having a large key and a key fob on my key ring. Do they actually work? Anybody know of a better one to go with?

I don't like the big key. My wife's Mazda5 has the switch blade key and I much prefer it.

That's sweet. Even has a solution for chipped auto keys. But what about the keyless entry buttons?

I guess you'd still have to have a fob attached via key ring. I don't mind open the doors with a key, but with my Focus if you don't use the fob button the **** alarm goes off...don't even know why they bothered putting the external lock access on it.

If you lock it with the key it will open with the key. If you lock it with the fob and then unlock with the key it doesn't know the difference between that and being popped by a burglar.

I wouldn't mind carrying that and a SMALL fob for keyless buttons. But without that opt it kind of kills it.

i bought 2 that looks exactly like that off of ebay for like $20 and and took them to the dealership and got it programed. ive had it since like a week after i bought the car and its working fine. dealership tried to tell me it wasnt going to program to my car. i had to pretty much talk them into trying it anyway and they were surprised that it worked.
