I think he means the women who draves idlly, not really paying any attention what's going on. I nearly got ran over by a few in a parking lot.

Getting busted is the easy part, having the mustang towed by someone who is under contract with the PD, now that's scary. I believe some states have laws that will revoke your license permantly for going over 100.

I agree. I used to work for a local PD and two of their three contract tow companies were not allowed to tow police vehicles. Only one was allowed to touch them.

I voted for Almost. When I was 17, I was stopped for doing about 105 in a 45 zone. Now the kicker is, I was following a police officer, and he stopped me. At 17, and being a bit arrogant, my attitude was that if he can do it, so will I. I followed him for a few miles before he stopped me. He didn't have me stopped for probably 1 whole minute. The first thing he said was "I am on my way to the scene of an accident, do you have a reason why you are doing nearly 3 times the speed limit?" I said "No, not really", but he knew why I was doing it. He then told me "You need to slow it down so that we don't have another accident" and told me to "Knock it off" and then left. He didn't even check my ID or anything. Looking back on that, it is amazing what you will do when you are 16-18, and certainly not anything I would ever do today.

Over here, you get banned for 3 months for breaking 100mph, more if the police believe your driving was dangerous at the time.

Now blasting 100 during rush hour.....

I for one would give anything to crack 100- With a Look at me Mr Cop Yellow Car, I am scared to.

Your aquaintance broke the law. The speed limit was 65 and he/she was going 105 mph. As for the police letting him go because he knew him, I think that is wrong. All people should be treated equal in the law. What applies to me applies to you. On your other point on how easy it is to go 100 in the stang, yes that is true. But when you go speeding you need to take responsibilty for it and accept the consequences. Also remember that sometimes people speeding kill and injure other drivers that are not speeding. So be carefull out there.
Well sometimes you get lucky, case in point {this was a few years ago, but.)

Bob gets his hands on an LX 5.0, has fun with it, and one night in particular, Bob decides to bust hiney onto the highway and fails to see the state cop not far behind him.

Bob is doing 75 or 80 when he merges on the freeway, its got a huge gap and Bob nails it hitting 126 or so MPH,

Bob turns onto an off ramp heading to a parkway and notices very bright high beams on his rearview, needless to say, Bob needs to change his underwear.

Officer walks up, ask for credentials, checks them out and says, slow it down and take it easy, have a good night.

I'm one of those people that always get punished for every little thing I do wrong. I never drive a lot over speed limit, never more than 5 mph over. But few weeks ago I was driving home from school at 8 p.m, I was following trafic at 65 mph in 50 mph zone, and of course I got pulled over. $165 and 4 pts. I hate my life.

100+ is not for everyone only the responsible and just like alcholics and pot heads thay exceed the limits and jeperdize their life as well as others for the excitement. But a real rider would never get caught doing that cause they know the limits and circumstances to stay responsible. The Boss takes me there everyday but only in appropiate and safe ( from others and CHP ) situations. If caught you deserve it for not being on point enough, :nono: create safe obsticle courses.

dont see the point. you've seen what happens to a mustang at 55-65 mph. now imagine at 100+ and you blow a tire and you know the brakes arent the greatest either.................. doesnt matter if anyone else is around or not thats just stupid. and if the law in your state says jail for 100+ then you should get jail time. only done over 100 once in my life and that was taking my wife to the hospital whne she had to have emergency surgery

I know how that goes. $115 and 2pts for an illegal turn on an empty road a couple weeks ago. Hello double insurance. I love being 18... wait no, i hate my life too.

On another note, i have no idea you have to go in canada to go to jail. I know at 200km/h (125mph) they take your car and double the speed limit (about 138mph on the highway) they take your license on the spot.

I say save the speed for the track. I've done it in my past and it is the dumbest thing I've done. It's just plain ignorant.

PLease!!! If you hit 100+ and get warned more power to you. 100 mph in a stang is nothin. Don't get me wrong 100 is pretty darn fast when you smash into something.

if you ask me, thats the only good reason for going over 100 ive read in this entire thread.

c'mon, wats the point really? sure u can get the adrenaline rush and whatnot, but why does it have to be on public roads. if you're not worrieb about your own life, than at least think of other ppl on the road. screw the "it was deserted" excuse. i say there isnt any excuse.

you wanna go fast? seriosuly, go to the track. theres already enough problems with drunk drivers and whatnot driving recklessly, the last thing we need is for ppl in their right minds driving like that.

maybe im just being ****, but i just dont see the point relly

I voted almost. When I was 17 I got stopped for 105 in a 55. The cop had been following me for about 7 miles before I relized he was behind me and the freeway ended. I sat on the curb for about 30 mins while the officer called my parents. He then let me drive home and the ticket cost me $500.

Driving home from work at around 2am on mostly deserted 6 lane freeways, it's soooo easy to open it up. This car just wants to run fast.

I have gotten off TWICE from the police in my car.
One night I was going 65mph in a 45 zone (at least... that's what he CLOCKED me at!) testing out my new front springs. The cop asked me why I was going so fast this late at night. I told him "umm.. testing my new springs, sir. I just put them in today."

He looked along the car, shook his head in a "right on!" kind of way, and LET ME GO. "just remember you should only be going that fast if you are going to the hospital."

Another time, an EVO and I were sparing around, not severly breaking any laws, just going through turns (SHARP turns) and straights. We were reving pretty high (both cars are loud) and right when he goes to turn, I see the lights go off. UH-OH!! Luckily he went after the import, and not the American Muscle!

YESSS!!!!
Cops here HATE imports. Ontario, California is a HUGE import street racing area, and I'm about 10 minutes away. The police are always on the look out.
