I have a question for all those 2013 mustang owners that have gotten the series 100 remote start system with thier car. I would like to know if using the remote start automatically locks your doors? I have a freind that has a honda (lol ) and if he un-locks his doors remotely and then remotly starts the vehicle the car automatically locks the doors defeating the purpose of remote start.

I just wanted to be sure that the remote start with the mustangs do not work this way. LMK if you like the option. I'm getting leather and want someway to cool the interior. Hope i can just get into the car without killing ignition and then restarting once in?

 

I have a 2012 with remote start and it won't start unless the doors are locked. Once you unlock it, you have to restart with the key. I'm still glad I have it when it is cold outside.

 

Woa!!! not what I wanted to hear but thanks for letting me know. I don't get what the point is of a remote start if you have to restart when doors unlock?

I bet its still a nice feature to have but i just don't get why this happens?

 

Does anyone know if geting an aftermarket remote start voids the warrante? also if any of the aftermarket ones out there allow you to remote start WITHOUT locking you out? Or shutting down when you unlock doors.
