Thumbs up

I've had my 1995 Gt for about a year now, i bought it on e-bay from missouri. no major problems with the car, but a question thats been nagging me for a long time is the fact that when i received the car i got 2 keys, both non-ford, non-originals. not overly concerned at the time i eventually orderd blanks (with the ford emblems on them). ok so now to the point.....not only were these keys non-originals they came with no remote , to open the doors/trunk, having gone through one whole New York winter fumbling for the keys in freezing weather to open the lock :bang: ive decided to find out if the car was originally equipped with remote keyless entry. so my question is how can i tell (if i can tell) if my car came with this? is there something in the vin# or on the door tags? and if not can i find out through ford? and how can i replace the remotes? any info would be appretiated
thanx

With your doors locked, lift up on your outside door handle (door does not open). Does the interior light come on when you do this? If so then yes you have the keyless entry option. If not, then most likely you don't. If you want to make 100% sure, go into the trunk, remove the interior panel on the drivers side. Behind there you will see a black bracket with a grey plug that is not plugged to anything. If you reach around the bracket you will feel the keyless module (not visible by just looking). If you do not see this bracket with the module, then not your car is not wired for keyless. If your interior light comes on like before mentioned and you have this bracket and module, all you need is a key fob (key ring remote), easliy found on ebay for not much money. That's all that is needed to make it work. If you do find out that you have the bracker/module in the trunk, PM me and I will talk you thru the steps to code your key fob to your module. Good luck.

No problem. I usually only read a couple of threads on here, but I got bored and saw your post last night. I just understand the boat your in. I has my Cobra for 3 years before I realized I has everything I need to use keyless. I even has a remote laying around. Once I put 2 and 2 together, it took me five minutes and wow, I had keyless. Live and ya learn. Good luck. I hope you find it!
