Question Rear End Gear Ratio?????

Hi, my rear end is about to go and I need to get new gears. I have 3.27 in right now and being 16 years old I am looking for better acceleration I am looking at the 3.55 but also 4.10. It is my DD to school and work. I am thinking 4.10 is to high but i don't know. Does anyone have any advice or input?

Ok Thank you all for your input. I think I will go 3.73 . and does anyone know where to find a 3650 5 speed transmission rebuild kit? I need a 3rd gear synchronizer but I think I want to rebuild the whole thing.

I would say 4.10's to be honest. They should be fine unless you do a lot of highway driving.

I'd go with 3.73. From what I've heard/read, they appear to improve acceleration without killing your mpg's, especially since its your DD. I'm also gonna go ahead and recommend americanmuscle; see what they have to offer. Good luck.

Cool

How did a 16 year old come up with the money to buy a Roush ? Since the car is for going to school and work, I dont think fuel mileage would be much different between a 3.73 and a 4.10. I would go with the 4.10 for more torque and a greater fun factor.

Cool

I have 4:11 gears behind my 429 CI SCJ engine in my 1971 Mach 1 and would want nothing less. I fact, there are many times I wish I had 4:30 rear gears.
