I, as well as you folks drive every day and see hundreds of license plates. So why is it then when folks post a picture of their vehicle, they fuzz out the license plate?

Thats a good question. I, as well as many others I suspect, are just lemmings.

There were some stories going around for awhile on I think a honda/acura forum about a member who had his car stolen and when the thieves were later caught they admitted that they saw his car on a forum and used the license plate number to find out where the guy lived.

Of course the car was parked out on the street and all that. As far as I'm concerned, there's a million more likely scenarios for your car to be stolen and I don't think it's that big of a deal to blur out the plate, but I guess some people just like to be extra cautious.

Your telephone number is in the phonebook, but you don't put it online, do you?

there is a BOSS429 that makes the local cruise events here in north bama and at every event he pulls his plates .. some cars are more apt to tempt a thief .. if anyone stole any of my junk they`d brink it back pretty quick and tell me to get rid of it ...

You may not, but it's still out there. If you're listed in the phonebook then you're listed somewhere online.

Just a couple examples...

if there are people out there that want to steal a mustang they will find one alot eaiser than tracking down a plate number. Tons of red ones out there as well as any other color to swipe and if they want your car they will probably see it out somewhere and then follow you.

Other than Law Enforcement or DMV Employees, who would even have the ability to do a search on a Plate? It's not like Google will give you the address when typing in a Plate.

I don't care who sees my Plate online, it's the same as my username anyways lol.
