Ponies on The Run (Again)
Well, my wife gave me the green light, but I don't think she's aware of how much these things cost. Now, if I can just allocate the funds (which includes debt and pulling a certain amount out from my azz), I can make this happen!
We have no idea what you're talking about (at least not me), but it sounds good!

Woops 21000. I know I've spent well over the price of a S/C by now but I just can't see myself a)having around 7K for a blower, gauges, intsall, etc. b)Putting myself 7K into debt c)As cool as it sounds can't justify in my head and to the wife spending so much on something that I'll rarely use to it's full potential. As it is now I don't get to fully enjoy the power I have that often or as often as I would like. d) I live in an apt right now and it doesn't seem smart to spend 7K on a blower setup when I don't even have a home/condo. I'm not trying to be anti-blower but for me personally that just wouldn't be a smart financial decision.

Totally agree. But you have to admit there's a big difference between blowing a couple hundered here and there and blowing 7k at one time. A few hundered can come out of your pocket but unless you have very deep pockets 7K is coming out of savings, loan, or credit card.
I bet the girls at BE could afford a S/C in a matter of weeks.

Wow....I don't read for a day...and I fall two pages behind note to self...check five times a day...
Bill: I'm leaning towards two blowers right now- whipple and paxton. I just want to find the one that's a) going to mate well with the shaker b) going to have less of a hassle when it comes to it's up keeping and c) just plain fun
I still have a lot of research before I settle...but more and more I'm leaning towards the whipple. hello debt lol

yeah, Luis, talk about missing alot. I think it was 3 pages for me. Personally, if I got a blower, it would be a Vortech/Paxton, I just think they look better, Im not a big fan of belts out in the open.

Eek...I'm boring you guys down with so many questions
on a side note...those two 'stangs are...wow....fast

Weight is probably relatively equal between them..... as far as maintenance, with the Paxton when you change the oil in the car, you're simultaneously changing it in the blower too. Whipple, Saleen, etc. are different in that regard.
Just remember the big difference in the two types of systems are the twin screw (Saleen, whipple, etc.) will have full boost by around 3000 rpm or possibly under; the centri (Paxton, Vortech, etc.) will just be starting to make boost at that rpm, and will continue to build to their peak boost at around 6500rpm.

Bill-BB cruise vid was awesome.
Those two S/C stangs were bad ***.
Since everyone's throwing out which blower they get....IF I were getting one it would be between the whipple and saleen. Somthing about the clean look of the Saleen appeals to me.
