So you'll do the remaining 7 miles tonight right ?? There isn't any clouds to watch out for, you should be OK.
The check engine light would spook me though, if you're not doing anything special warm up or not that shouldn't happen. I can start mine up and immediately drive w/o any codes or faults coming up without any type of warm up.

I drove all over town today to get it just shy of 500. I'll finish it off when I return from Vegas.
Either way, I'm not really pushing it. I took it to 4 psi during a quick acceleration, but that's about it.
Believe me guys, if anyone's paranoid about snapping rods, it's me.
You're right about that. But this time I know it's getting adequate fuel when my fuel pressure gauge shows upward of 50+ psi when blipping the throttle.

looks like he just lost control, one of the responses said that his wheel was loose, but it's still good on there, until he hits the wall, then it's kinda weird for the wheel to just come off

They are starting to look better.
Well, just got back from the track. Tired
No new times but I'm more consistent (read 9.0x's) I really need to work on that launch. Then I could get the 8.8X's more consistently.Had two interesting runs.
Rx-7 - Only mods where down pipe and intake. Was nice to see him in the rear view mirror, especially since my friend puts them on a pedestal
Mustangt Gt - It had 4.10's and an intake. He claimed to have been running on average 8.6's but when I ran him I was able to beat him by a tenth
One time only deal I'm sure, but I'm counting it 
Leo 2 - was fun hanging out in the staging lanes.

Looks better! Needs some kind of CDC front spoiler to scrape on.

Wish me luck. Hopefully I don't reenact that bullit clip George posted or have the engine go BOOM! Don W will be there so I'm sure I'll have my *** handed to me a few times. I'll also be going up against another friend with a GT500 w/CAI/Tune/Pulley upgrades.
