I have not read anything about the Steeda. And if you read it on another forum it was probably posted to help push the thump rrr sales LOL. You could check out the Roush tensioner, it is similar to the Steeda and the last time I checked, JDM was offering a lifetime replacement guarantee if it failed. Either way you go, you may want to keep a tensioner on your "to do" list.
I've done zero research on any of these tensioners. But, I cannot see any of them (incl. the Steeda or Roush) being of weaker or the same construction as the stock one.
I think these tensioners fall into the category of bottom ends. If you're pushing massive power, you better go forged. If of the lesser, the cast will do.
I got word back from MGW regarding the engine bay caps. They are still planning on making them, but have been too busy with the firearms side of the house.
I've waited this long, so I guess I'll just hold out for them.

Someone's excited!
Bring the extra pulleys for me when you come up and I'll get them from you.
So on Thurday night, are you guys heading to the track?
I don't think Jed has the means to post any pics up until he gets home.. which is today?

So Bill have you looked into the tensioners?
EDIT/UPDATE:
I'm heading out to ST at 4am tomorrow. I'm hoping by giving them all of tomorrow that I might have it back mid-day Friday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Tensioner.. I see nothing wrong with the Steeda tensioner. Looks beefier than stock and Tom's been running it for a while at higher boost levels than us. At $119 shipped, it's not a bad deal.
Longgg day for you tomorrow..

The sooner the better. Ideally if you were there when I get there we could just wait around till 9ish then take off back to Hawthorne and not deal with traffic. But I'm guessing you want to sleep so If you get there around 10-11 that will work to.
Let me know what you decide.
Thanks. I'll have the canton tanks ready for you by Saturday at the latest. I'll probably leave them with Bill to pass on to Jed to pass on to you.
He might have. I've gotten so much crap in the mail these past few weeks that I don't even know what I have anymore.
So your not opting for the extra blingy steeda version for $159? So does this mean you'll be installing one in the near future?
Long day for sure but atleast it's for something worth doing.

I thought the dude sent the 3.0 pulley in the 2nd shipment? Not that I need it right away.

Steeda tensioner.. they want $40 more for the billet pulley. I'm not sure if that's necessary or what. Problem issue is the tensioner itself breaking/bending and not the plastic pulley cracking, right?
Are you going to take your Shaker and whatever else cosmetic off to make their job easier? Or leaving everything on?
I think a beer is in order tomorrow night.

You're still sifting through all the boxes? You better get it together by tonight and not forget anything. I could have sworn you told me you got both pulleys for me.

That's what I was thinking I'm not sure how the pulley factors in. I'm guessing not much because Brian's frankentension still has a plastic pulley. And If I'm not mistaken Thumprr sells his with and without a billet pulley.
No only because I don't have room for the shaker in the car. And I don't want to drive all the way back to SD with a hole in the hood. If it's not centered when I get it back I can always adjust that later. Either way I'm sure I'll have to do a few cosmetic touches once I get it back.
I did put in the SOS pillar already. Figured it was easier than hauling the huge odd size box to ST and back. Kind of awkward right now looking into empty gauge pods.
