Back from RET.

Part delay. Manifold has not arrived at the shop yet. Greg's hands are tied as its a Dealer parts procurement problem.

Because of Greg's limited space, he wants my car out asap too as Mustangs are getting stacked up behind mine as well as outside his building.

So, completion date can't be assigned until the new manifold arrives.

Here's a pic of how she sits right now..

Outside with Greg's track monster in the foreground

Mark (ChevyKiller) was there getting a dyno tune.. this things a beast!

^ Thanks, but at this point already having ordered a new replacement, it's just easier for all parties if I wait it out another few days.

But I would like to thank you, Brian, and Jed for offering your manifolds.

Good news Bad news

First the Bad. Long story short I'm paying $135 shipping for the Paxton A/A intercooler. Also got a call back from the plater and the actual cost of polishing the head unit, MAF housing, and Intercooler pipe is $200. $140 more than originally quoted. The nickel and diming portions of total blower cost have begun.

Good News...Rims and tires are here and mounted. I'll post pics later today. The SOS guage pod also arrived.

Leo, at least every part of this project will have a story behind it.
(Believe me, I'm not laughing at you.. I'm laughing with you!)

Looking forward to seeing the new wheel/tires pics.

This doesn't look to bad to me but it's getting close the body style helps blend the tires in. Being lowered helps alot. I was just thinking to shorten our differential would involve some serious modifications to all of the rear suspension. In the end you may not end up with the handling one would want for the twisities. As a drag car I think it would be okay, still a ton of work would be in order I don't think it's worth it for us road rat drivers.

Not my fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yeah, nothing seems to go as planned. When Jed offered 2 weeks ago, I thought I was picking it up then, so I didn't think I would need his.

That $60.00 dollar quote was a low ball If I ever saw one. Sheet cost that much just to turn on the buffer. So are you going for it? You should, $200 is still a good deal that SC got all kinds of nooks and cranies trust me if you started to do it yourself you would spend that $200 on equipment and buffing compounds alone. Outsource is the way to go, and if it's not to your spec you can have them take a crack at it at their expense. Life is good!

Bill,

How long has it been since the TR went into the shop to first get the SC put on? How many months all told have you been without the car in perfect driveable condition?

I'm not trying to dredge up bad memories, but I am curious not in money because that's really got to suck, but just in time of enjoyment have you lost?

Of course don't answer if you don't want, and if I'm out of line tell me.

Yeah I'm still doing it because I know I won't be happy with the fugly satin finish. No way I'd attempt to polish it myself. I just can't wait to have everything I need for install on hand so I can just sit back, relax and count the days till install. Right now It feels as if I'm in a race against the clock to get everything done.

Not out of line at all. I feel more stupid than ashamed.

I drove my car (running in perfect NA condition) to my mechanic friend's house/garage on the 3rd week of February.

2nd test drive.. April 15th is when the stock motor blew from not installing the BAP.

Sat in my brother-in-law's garage until June 3, the day I had it towed to Swanson Performance.

Picked it up from Swanson on Aug 14th. 500 miles later, it died again.

In RET's hand since Sept 10th.

To date, all parts and labor spent on this entire supercharger project is between $16,000 to $18,000.

Me =

I'm really, really sorry Bill. I was too afraid to even ask about the cost. I was just thinking it seemed like it had been a really long time.

I sure hope you get her back real soon. It is very sad to even think of anymore.

Edit: I can;t wait to view the photobucket videos with the techno music playing in the background. I'm looking forward to it man.

Yike that smiley tells it all! Don't worry Bill all that's behind you, the cost can be tempered by a equity loan! Fun times ahead, cruises to do memories to make, look forward not back!
