Good to hear you had a great time I might have to throw myself a B-Day party one year and have your band come out and play.

GREAT weather. It was 90's all day which did get kind of hot in the race suits and helmets, but can't complain. It was a blast keepin' up with all the Porsches through the turns

10 seconds of wierdness..

Was cruising on the freeway on the way home from work today and the motor kinda sounded like it was bogging. Little hard to explain, almost like 1 injector failed or a COP went south, like it was missing.

No sooner than the 'oh crap' thought entered my head, it smoothed out.

I reflashed the tune after I got home for the heck of it. Battery was disconnected forever and I know it shouldn't affect the tune that's already in the PCM, but also can't do any harm in reflashing it.

Any who, hope that gremlin doesn't come back.

They do look cool......I wonder what the power increase is if any?
The stock manifolds look pretty effecient but lack the cool factor completely.

http://www.jbaheaders.com/feature_pa...mustangnew.asp

They don't show any HP data on the JBA website regarding the shortys....just 23.4 HP with JBA exhaust....Probably with long tubes, no cats and axle backs.....

The General consensus is that shorties aren't worth the cost and labor for the 5 or maybe 10 HP that it adds. Some people claim that they add mid-range power but I've yet to see a single test that adds ONLY the shorties and nothing else for the before & after. But mine were almost free. Cost me to buy the ceramic coating. Not that I agree with that, but I'm not gonna bite the hand that feeds me so to speak. Also I notice that the "firecone" thing that they advertise isn't on these.

Brain those shorties look sweet. When I had mine installed it was purely for the looks. Those few if any horses are a plus but nothing to count on.

Those look great and with lowering springs shorties will be in you favor. No hanging to low. Less chance of scraping. Long tubes hang to low IMO

If I wasn't in CA I would have had long tubes a long time ago. These are mainly for two reasons. They look good and they're CARB legal and will get by a smog test out here. I know of a couple high horsepower S197s that still have the stock manifolds. So we'll see.

Dynolicious... ah yeah. I will be testing it out shortly. Gotta get a before and after, ya know.

Like Watts links for the BCMC crew. Or Better yet, a 302 forged engine at cost or below. One can dream right ? Would it be heresy to put a Whipple on a Saleen engine ?
No Sh t. Guess I should have made some of the meetings in the last couple months.

Congrats to Mark.

Yes they do. Not a Chevy guy but that ZR1 is pure sex.... even for a Chevy. The Challenger is OK, better than the Camaro, but MAN is it big. All-n-all, great pics. That looks like it was a lot of fun. I've always wanted to go to Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School here in Pomona, but never got around to it. That or Skip Barber.

From what I have heard, longtubes for the S197's tuck way better than for previous model Mustangs. With my longtubes, I have had no clearance issues and the bottom-out-factor is like stock.

It was an absolute blast. The instructors put on a safety and instructional presentation to teach everyone about apexes, steering, shifting, downshifting, all the stuff you need to know to get the most out of those little Spec cars. Then they take you around the track in their personal vehicles showing you the 3 mile track and after that they let you loose. It was probably the most fun I have ever had at the track! Great experience!

And yeah, those Challengers are just tanks. It was funny to see the guy trying to corner with all the tuner cars and Specs
