you guys are blowing it (no pun intended ) out of proportion. I just ordered the gt500 spoiler. Figure I finally just buy now, think later.

Thank you Brian, George, Bill, and Luis for the MGW advice. I thought it was the right move but now I know it for sure!

Just spent the past 6 hours pulling and redoing audio install. Trying to trace down some alternator whine. Also installed the Bluetooth module on my deck so now I can talk hands free while going through the gears. And it'll automatically mute when I get calls, I think it'll be cool. Hopefully no more missing calls listening to a little alt rock.

Take it easy guys.

Track results.......

New record.....

Doesn't make any sense but some how I got several 1.9 60fts yet my best ET was still 8.426. Eithway I had tons of fun as was treeing people like nobody's business. Unfortunatly the 12 second time slip eludes me again. Next time I think I'm going to try going with only a 1/4 tank of gas as this time I had over half. That might be just enough to shave of those 26 100ths of a second.

EDIT-Got to hear what a bottle of Nitrous sounds like when it blows up. Some pics a fellow SDMC member took at the track.

Make sure you have a good, clean ground. Also make sure the bolt that's holding the factory charge wire on the alternator is tight- I've seen them loose before and generating noise there too.

Congrats Leo. I think having less gas is a pretty big help. I knocked off quite a bit going with an empty tank. I need to go back with a fully optimized setup too.

Quiet in here today.......

Well I had a wheel lock key break on me today, so I can't get my wheels/tires off...... what a biotch that is. And I don't have a spare, so I gotta call the company on Monday and have one sent out. I did manage to touch up my calipers carefully while spinning the wheels around by hand.

Also I removed and replaced all of the vinyl on the back 1/2 of the car, and was successful in wrapping my GT500 spoiler with one piece, something I couldn't do last year. (Ford uses two pieces too) I also slightly modified my "S197 GT" side stripes...... debating on whether or not to rip them off and install the fading stripes I bought a while ago.

Tomorrow I plan to wash/scrub/buff/wax the rocker panels and front/rear bumpers. Then wash/wax the entire car and clean up the engine bay.

Sounds like you had a busy day, how hard was it to get the vinyl off?

Easy....... A lot of people complain about removing vinyl but I've always found it to be really easy. The portions that I removed have been on there for a little over 2 years. I wanted to R&R them mainly just because they're white and because of the dirt that the rear of the car sees, they've become a little discolored. My car has a nice butt again now that she's new and shiny.

Well 2 years isn't too bad. We were talking earlier today about how freaking dirty the ***-end of the cars get. If there was some way to break up the low-pressure of that area you could make a mint on s197 owners.

It's been quiet prolly 'cause the So Cal guys are all tired from the 281motorsports show and brew afterwards.

The show was much bigger than I expected must have been 30, maybe 40 cars. It was a nice show. There was no shade at all and even though it wasn't a blazing day today it just sapped all my energy.

Between Leo and my self we made out like bandits. I won in the raffle a set of JBA Stainless Steel shorties and Leo won a Sub, speakers and some other stuff that is work about a grand or so. That flippin sub has got to be at least 50 lbs and it's made of aluminum... huge.

Afterwards we went to a bar/pub here in Fullerton called Heroes. 90 or 100 beers on tap. After a few brews and a mountain of nachos, well at least I was dead to the world.

Still all-n-all great time with George, Jed, Leo, Steve. Can't wait for the next outing all ready.

BTW. The Brea show by the OCMC is June 15th. Talked to Frank Morales and he says it is still OK to mail in the pre-registration. Probably gonna be in that show. It's just to **** close not to be.

Some of you still use wheel locks?

I haven't seen a car on milk crates from having their wheels ripped off since the last decade.

Congrats to you and Leo on winning some cool stuff!

Sorry I missed the party today, but I'm sure we'll hook up at other shows this year.

These came on the car when I bought it new in '05.
