Ponies on The Run!
See...now that's just wrong. Some of us use the automatic because it's a nice, easy way to win drag races while you gear-rippers are trying to find the next broken synchro or figure out how to launch the car without blowing the tires off.
Leo....describe your launch technique and I'll see if I can help. You didn't deep stage did you?

The more he talks about Barona the more I want to get down there and check it out. I can't wait to test my car out on the track.

Pull up to the burn box in 1st.
Hold the brake and bring the RPM's up to about 4-5K and wait for tires to smoke
Go foward about 10ft then stop and put it in Drive
Roll up and barely trigger the 2nd staging light.
Hold down the brake and bring up RPMS to about 1.5K (Car seems to want to break free if I go higher)
Wait for the third amber and hit the go pedal.
Like I said though the car is shifting into 4th the last 20ft or so. I know that doesn't effect 60ft but I'm sure it's affecting my ET. From what I've seen on various forums people with comparable mods are easily hitting high 12's.
Burnout problem- The more I think about it the less I think it's an issue. Because while maybe I didn't have the greatest burnouts I never had a problem with traction. At the line the car would just hook and go.
AutoTranny haters-The only thing I'll say is yes the manual is more fun on the street but the auto kicks but at the track.
What's with all the "I love TacoBill threads"?
EDIT: One thing I did forget to mention is I tried playing with the settings on my D-specs and didn't find a combo that was better than the rest. I guess I need somebody out there with me to tell me if the rear end is squating to much etc.....

Nice pics, Jed!
Here is a picture of the receiver for the TPMS. After the receiver "learned" all 4 sensors, I set all 4 tires exactly to 30.0 PSI, and they were 84° F. You can carry the receiver around with you to the tires as you fill them and watch the PSI change!
This picture is after driving around town taking some pics (which I'll post later):
The buttons have things on them, but they were washed out in the pic.
I'm amazed how quickly the PSI grows. The front tires got as high as in that pic, while the rear tires went to 32.8 PSI and 114° F.

You SoCal boys have too much fun...hey Jed, can you PM me the fullsize pic of that red R8?
Tom, that's cool, I've never seen a TPMS that measures temp

TacoBill love-fest... I dunno man, but I'm just waiting for him to tell us he got a bouquet of flowers from an anonymous admirer
You can hear the wrath of the KB loud and clear!
I don't think Jed ever boosted more than what he did on Saturday... he was all in that sh*t!
Pretty nifty thingie there Tom.
Where did you end up mounting the receiver?
Caught me by surprise too. But hey, give these guys a break, all they want to do is thank the Taco.
Believe me, I'll take praise over an internet lashing any day.
It's pretty cool. I can't find a place that I like. Maybe I'll find a place that isn't obvious, but that can be checked easily (since there is an audible alarm if tire pressures get too low, or if temps get too high).
