George, the mirrors are gorgeous. The more I see them the more I like them. Leaving the mirrors black really works on the PJ. It's got the Boss 302 style down pat.

Jon, I think I'd try installing them myself. Yeah they'd be a pain but it'd be well worth it.

Jed, the BFGs look great.

Phil, Good to hear you're getting the hang of it. Pretty soon you'll be a pro at it. Just like anything else, practice..... it's just this kinda practice can get you in trouble

 

Those Agent 47 mirrors look killer on your ride George. I don't think they would look better on any other other. Seems to go with everything else perfectly.

 

I'll prolly just get some rough est. to see what shop time/cost is. With the cost of headers I still need to add a tuner which I dont have. So thats another $400+ any tunes I may need. I can prolly stay at or under a grand if I do install myself which is doable.

 

If it had 4 doors, it would be a sedan.

It is not just the inch difference in the rims.
Just because a tire is the same size doesn't mean the TREAD is the same width.
When I bought new tires for the truck this fall I went to a BFG tire that was one size SMALLER than stock.
The tread is over a half inch WIDER on the same rims.
Anyway, congrats on the new tires. Exactly what I would choose.

 

Wow.. the more I look at these pics makes me want to ditch my skinny 235's.

I think our stock Bullitts are 8" wide. Guess bigger is better!

Driving sensation these tires seem to transmit more road feel, maybe because of the bigger surface area? I'm runing 30 psi all around. Turns feel the same as before, as I drove over a speed bump in my driveway which was the size of mount Everast! I heard a little noise but on inspection no noticable rub or damage. I think it was the suspension. The front tires on the inside of the wheel is about an 1/8 from the front struts on "jacks" I think going wider (if I did) the tire might start hiting the front fender if hit a massive dip. All in all I like the look, I'm going to have the rims "boiled" and "black chromed" get ready for another shoot

I like the real wide tire look. 10" look about perfect. Too much wider, and it looks like the trunk would have to be tubbed...which is a lot of work. I think the more I see that car, the better I like it.

 

Whenever I need a set of new tires I'll end up swapping the rear rims for some 10.5" rear rims and tires. I only got 8.5" right now. I love the look of thick back tires

 

Jed is the master at making other people spend money.

Who needs wheel spacers with those?!

Bill, did you end up using those camber adjusters? I forget...

I think the weight of the turbo kit may have lowered my front end slightly more 'cause I noticed my camber was a little too negative. Nothing else could have moved because I have the 4 studs perfectly centered in the strut tower holes (with the inserts around the studs to make sure all 4 studs stay centered). And I had the 9/16" bolts through the lower holes of the struts to get rid of every bit of slop in those holes.

So, I broke out the camber bolts today and installed them on the top holes and set camber on both sides of the car to -1.0°, with factory specs being -.75° +/- .75° (-1.5° to 0°).

If I remember correctly, yours were set to an "aggressive" -1.3°.

 

Do it...... changing wheels/tires on my car was one of the biggest appearance mods I've made. The car will look completely different with fat wheels/tires.

 

Nope, didn't need the camber bolts.

Yup, I'm at -1.3°.

 

With the 9/16" bolts in the bottom hole, and the stock 14mm bolts in the top hole (with slop), I could probably have achieved -1.3° on both sides. I wanted closer to -1.0° so I had to use the camber bolts in the top strut-to-spindle holes.

 

I'm sure it's more than fine. There's like 1000's of cars running camber bolts without issues, just as long as you don't curb it!

 

I think I'll hang on to them for a while to make sure I like the new look. I like the wide look of the BFG-KD's so I'll stick with those for now, I'm still thinking about those Goodyear F1's as new rubber, I like that "Goodyear" lettering on the wheel. Only thing that tire is actually a rain tire.
