I don't think 275's on an 8.5" rim will cut it.

I could swear thAT ON JedCranium's Roush, or the 427R that was at the last R&R's I went to had them. Although I don't know the rim width.

So is it general knowledge that 255/45 is the widest I can go ??

I'm probably a year or so away from that though.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it's not so dirty now. The wife came pulling into the driveway last night, saw the hood open and wanted to know what was wrong. So I picked up the bottle of cleaner and a rag and said just 2 words... "Peer Pressure"!

Tom your thoughts?
On 18's... 255/45

On 17's... 255/50

Yes, 255 is the limit for stock rims. The rule of thumb is +20mm. If you go to 275s you will need a wider rim.

Crud. Oh Well. a 255 tire still isn't a bad tire.

Oh and... in my humble attempt to catch-up to the joneses... I've got the CDC classic, MRT hood struts and SSE ducktail on order. Will probably get the mgw shifter too.

Finally! Is the SSE pre painted? What about the CDC classic are you keeping it matte black or going body color?

Of course the 255's aren't bad. Heck, we're running 235's now. However, there's something alluring about 295's that I can't seem to shake.

I think someone's getting ready for the R&R show.

No neither one are pre-painted Found out why CDC has been on backorder too, they've moved to the textured finish for the classic and no-longer offer the unpainted/smooth version per the dude @ MRT. Will the CDC be painted, likely very likely.

I hear ya. I've started to like the deep dish bullits more, quite a few of 'em where at the Irwindale cruise, and I was thinking of having the stockers up front and deep dishes in the rear ?? But since it's a DD for now I don't know if I want to sacrifice the rotation benefits.

Tell me about it. I had to pay for a @#$%^*#$*@ root canal that hit the 4 digits... all mod money. Since I kinda got sick of drinking anbesol to dull the jack-hammer pain that my throbbing jaw would produce it came before fun stuff for the car. Stupid teeth. I told the dentist to yank 'em all now since they'll have to come out anyway and it'd be cheaper.... he didn't find the humor in that ??

DD are optional, not required to run the 295's. It's just if you want that look. I'll be searching for the non-DD wheels.

I understand the need for rotation, but it's so ho-hum to me. I've only rotated the tires on my DD just once (I'm pretty lazy about that).

Going staggered, the tires will only need to be replaced in pairs versus all 4. As if that'll ease the pain in the pocketbook!

btw, sorry about your $1k tooth.

Opinion time (especially Tom)..

Forget the style of wheels and tire brand, I'm looking for feedback on it's stance, wheel well gap, tire width, and how the 20's look.

Steeda Ultralites
Shelby CS67 20x9 and 20x10
Nitto Extreme Tires 255/35/20 and 285/30/20

I don't think the 20s look ridiculous or anything. The only thing I don't like is how the front wheel well looks like it has pretty large gaps around the sides and not much of a gap at the top. It just looks awkward to me. I would say the stance and the tire width are both good by me.

One of the reasons that I haven't worried about tires is for as big as they are, 50 series, they fit the car very well. One thing about most of the tires that people use, as in this case, they look too small for the car. Even if they're on 20s IMO the 30-35 profile hurts the look. However if the Shelby wheel was in 18s and I was looking to replace mine, they'd be the only ones I'd get.

I agree with Kyle. Also, I don't like how tiny the brakes look with the 20s. It doesn't matter if you come off of the 27" height a little... you can use the SCT to recalibrate your speedometer. My tires are actually .3" shorter than the stock tires, but I told Doug what tires size I had.

Thanks for the comments. I was just curious more than anything because he has the same lowering springs as me. So it was a perfect example on the springs/wheel/tire combo.

I was thinking the samething afterwards. Guess if we had some big Brembo's, it'd be a different story.
